Bangladesh beats India in per capita income

Another lie by Sanghi. Just checked and India households with pc/tablet/laptop is 11% vs 14% in Pakistan. Don't even want to mention percentage of population without toilets at home, thats getting old lol

Not to mention that those pc/tablet/laptops in India households are the cheapest kind.

Back in the day, I grew up in Bangladesh (I'm sure most of the Pakistani and Bangladeshi PDF members also did) with at least a two door refrigerator sized 350 plus liters (Sharp, Hitachi, Kelvinator, Indesit etc.).

Our first one I knew was around 450 liters (which we soon upgraded to a 700 liter one) but that is beside the point. Our lifestyles in Pakistan and Bangladesh require extensive cooking, sending food to each other (relatives), especially in Ramzan, Eid, Shab-e-Barat etc. and of course storing meat after Qurbani. No such luxury in India.

The kanjoosi (miserly behavior) in India requires that they buy max 200 litre one door fridges of this type, (shown below). This Godrej micro fridge is like a friggin' status symbol in a Hindutva household, the unboxing of said item is like a celebration, see video. No one in Pakistan and Bangladesh would EVER buy a 200l fridge like this.

The more low class Hindutva you are, the more kanjoos you are. My God these people's thinking pattern and lifestyle are so out of step with the world outside of India. Then they boast of 300 Million middle class. What good is a friggin' middle class if you don't buy crap??

The Western investors who got duped by "Indian Middle Class is large" hype found out much to their chagrin that kanjoosis don't buy anything, hold on to a car for more than ten years, even if they have a fortune. Western companies set up massive plants in India to supply consumer items to Indian middle class, which are now near idle situation. Of course Indian red tape(ry) means you can't export these India-specific 200 liter fridge designs anywhere and make money. No one will buy these kanjoosi backdated designs anywhere outside India. Indian Banya dhokeybaaji (fraud/cheatery) again.

So this is just for fridges, I will detail other appliances in other posts.

I have noticed that exact same thing.

IMF's 2020 GDP data, which shows BD GDP per capita being higher than India's, was there for a very short time. Some people then changed it to show projected data, which is very unusual for these pages.

Basically a Pajeet hijacking of wikipedia.

Can’t you at least concede the satisfaction of a virtual victory? It is very cruel to take away a baby’s pacifier.

Toilets are hardly needed (maybe once a day in the maarrrnyng) when you eat half-chapati, half-onion meals.... :p:
Let's get back in a 1,000 days in this thread....Let's see who is ahead then

Is this a race?

Sorry but we in Bangladesh don't really hold India as a benchmark for an economy to emulate. Too many eff-ups that we can see.

This nincompoop ruined your country, and you voted this Moron in twice...maybe again next time too.

Not saying you yourself did, but look at the situation...am I right or am I right?

BD is trying to get 4 million doses from the USA and the Indians may resume exports early next month but BD still has a 4 - 6 week window for it to find more AstraZeneca doses.

I am very confident no doses will be exported in next few months, highly unlikely any further exports in 2021. We are only doing 1.8 million vaccines a day, which will take us more than 2.5 years to reach herd immunity. Modi's numbers are lowest in his tenure and opposition are for his throat for exporting vaccines. I am confident we will not export vaccines (India can't actually) in 2021.

the nincompoop put Hasina in power in BD, without whom all gains BD made would be squandered..good luck if you think Khaleda Zia types can steer BD into economic greatness....whether you like it or not..countries in the same region are in the best position to give eachother healthy economic competition..Indian subcontinent only learning those lessons now....The four Aisan tiger economies of Korea,Taiwan,Singapore,HK rose together......China and Vietnam are rising together...Malaysia,Thailand rose together...same will be the case of India,Pak,BD,Bhutan,Nepal and SL..though SL is miles ahead of the rest to be frank

Size of refrigerator, seriously?? What next - size of eelish and beef pieces? Why not compare number of IT companies and workforce engaged in high tech industry?

Hasina was already in power before the Rabindranath wannabe got elected. I have had my fair share of cha in road side stalls all my life...never have I ever looked at the guy making tea for me and thought you know what I bet that guy could run the country..lets replace the economist running the show and give this a guy a chance...I have been told about the American dream all my life...but man o man you guys one upped America in this case.

Both the economist and Rabindranath wannabe agree that Haseena should be in charge of BD instead of Khaleda Zia

Naw - you guys excel in theoretical IT stuff, building castles in the air (mostly paperwork and coding). Height of unequal development. Keep going the route you always have, led by indian Billionaire Banyas and exploiting lower middle and middle class Indians as is the norm.

No jobs for poor folks in India, unlike in Bangladesh.

By the way we in Bangladesh don't divide one Eelish (Hilsa) fish among seven families like they do in India.

Let's not go into beef either. In Bangladesh, beef pieces in a curry below a certain size (5 cm cubes) is considered kanjoos and a source of shame for a household. How'd Indians know though...

We have gotten ourselves in IT as well (second behind India in global BPM and contract development), however the pattern is different (more inclusive) than how large companies in India control the Back-office contracts with global firms. In Bangladesh developers and contractors are individual contractors and work in diverse fields such as animation, desktop and web publishing, app development for mobile platforms (sometimes in East Asian languages). Volume is a lot less than India, given the size of our economy, but this again (on topic) is being driven toward inclusive growth, not unequal growth like in India. People make their own money, this is an online economy and we are in 2021. The govt. does not interfere.

Just to mention one facet, mobile payments for even the poorest person in Bangladesh is accessible and widespread. The sector in Bangladesh (infra, apps, reach with local e-commerce retailers) is all homegrown.

And talking about refrigerators, Indian brands tried for five decades to sell us Godrej and Videocon refrigerators, no one bought them. Five decades later, we supply 85% or all our own refrigerators (large ones, mind you) and Indians are buying our larger refrigerators (and TV's, and Aircons).

Yehi hai dunya.

Rabindranath would be really impressed if he saw this TV that works on Bangla commands,

I hear some local companies are also working to port locally made Bangladeshi Android Mobiles to Bangla.

Any chance Indian cheater dhokeybaaj Kanjoosi Business Banya (Poonawalla of serum institute) will return Bangladeshi money though?

You know - we did pay.... :-)

I believe your posit that Modi put Hasina in power is frankly hogwash. :-)

How?

Please enlighten us "slow" types.

And honestly, does Bangladesh need India to be developed? Not really. We've been trying to get out of Indian snake-coil embrace (Nagpaash) to be honest for the last five decades.

The last fifty years has definitely seen India "hinder" Bangladesh growth - by influencing our trade policy for its own selfish economic gains (one way trade) to the tune of tens of Billions every year. Bangladesh is the biggest market for Indian companies, so much so that larger Indian brands have re-packaging plants here which dhokeybaaj Banyas proudly call "investments in Bangladesh". :omghaha:

Then there are issues of India siphoning remittance out of Bangladesh to the tune of tens of Billions every year (by illegal tourist visa overstayer Indian managers being employed in Bangladesh). Then we talk about medical tourism and shopping by Bangladeshis in India to the tune of MORE than fifteen Billion every year.

We Bangladeshis have kept Kanjoosi India's service economy afloat, your retail markets and your hospitals. Go see how retailers are crying in Kolkata right now, all the mall/clinic owners and Hotels. Better not to talk - Dada. We know what's what.

If we were not surrounded by India, we'd be in at least Malaysia's situation today, if not Korea's.

India's neighbors all hate India, this is fact.

No you donot need India to be developed...Nobody said that.Isaid that when there is healthy economic competition between countries the whole Indian subcontinent region improves a s a result...I had more like specialized competition in mind....like how UK dominated the "bagger" scene with JCB and Germans the luxury car scene....and as you guys are so capable you should be able to decouple from India easily...frankly Bangladesh and India are worlds apart ..you guys should enter into collobiration with your better neighbour Myanmar..

Stop every inflow and outflow from and to India...even if that means undertaking a revolution in your country....future of Bangladesh lies with Myanmar
