I think you're speaking in jest because Army has plenty of LCT's already (of half a dozen types). :D

The largest being of course Shakti Sanchar class designed/built at DEW. This recent sea-going coastal LCT (subject of this thread) will be even larger than Shakti Sanchar class (and built for sea state 4 and endurance of 15 days at sea justifying the larger design)...but once you get into that territory, you have to start calling it an 'LST' I believe.

I remember I had several threads running last year listing possible contenders including a nice Russian one. But Russian Federation is not in the 'A' list per DGDP tender document.

Election is coming so huge shopping spree is going for armed forces. Govt. Need Army support to retain control over election process.

Doesn't look promising for our requirements moreover you are not A category country.

Both size almost same. Main difference is this new LST would've capabilities to function in sea state 4 . Doesn't tell anything how any troops it should carry compare to Shakti Sanchar which Cary 195 troops. If we consider Shakti shanchar new vessel should able to Cary 200+ troops along with 20 officer and 40 crew.

Yawn...this has been the theme for close to 10 years now.

I find it so simplistic...here you go...I'll buy you gadgets, because, BNP, the party born illegally inside cantonment won't supply the armed forces with toys

Of course the govt wants the Army onside...but, if the Army brass is going to stay loyal or not based on a few amphibious landing crafts...I'd say, Bangladesh is in real trouble

So army awarded two LCT contract to Western Marine now issued tender for another two. Tender says the equipments should be from A countries, does it include the whole ship?? Any idea why Russia and China in B country list?? Can anyone provide the pic and details of LCT those Type A countries can offer which match the requirements.

I am guessing the sea-going and helipad requirements point to a design similar to BRP Bacolod City (LS-550) made in the US (Halter/Moss Point Marine of Escatawpa, Mississippi in the United States) in the 1990's. Of course - ours will be made locally.
