Bahrain Otokar Cobra [RIOT]

How is this uprising any different from say Syrian uprising?-
Minorities have dictatorial rule of majority in both cases-

.
Cobra is not purely an anti-riot vehicle they need TOMA's.

.
Clearly they are doing a good job, so far (depending on the sources) only up to 93 people died in the protests.

Kudos to Bahrain and the Saudi forces there.

By middle east and asian standards thats a great accomplishment if you compare it to libya or syria .

The saudi forces role was to protect strategic assets from sabotage and attacks , only bahrain security forces were dealing with the protestors .

Around 100 people were killed true , but 70% of these were incidents were the so called peaceful protestors attacked business districts and embassy areas .

what matters most is that these protests are over now and ended .

Cobra is not purely an anti-riot vehicle they need TOMA's.

After the riots were over bahrain ordered equipment worth 100 milllion from Turkey for its security forces , they were happy with the otokar performance, it was used by the revolutionary gaurds for fast deployment , the police does not use otokar , only their special forces.

Do you have more information what they ordered?

If they are really happy with Cobra vehicle they might have ordered some more of the new models.

Bahrain is always confidential on what they order , like the otokar , they never announced they had it before , the order inclding training and security equipment.

Anyway bahrain forces were happy with otokar, it allowed them to be highly mobile in dealing with thugs during the bahrain riots which is over now .

Bahrain thanked turkey for helping in ending the turmoil

TURKEY - Bahrain thanks Turkey over its role in ending turmoil

They basically thanked Turkey for the high performance otokar and other turkish security equipment bahrain ordered from turkey.

you have a formidable army , but this EU accession process stops any turkish leadership from using the army in dealing with insurgents and terrorists.

Yeah , they might order more for the new one , Bahrain anyway keeps secrecy over its military purchases , Just like the Otokar , they never revealed before that they bought a bunch of it .

Bahrain created a fast deployment force to deal with internal riots , they were using otokar .

Otokar Cobra I is save enough and it´s better for RIOT missions like in Bahrain.

I think Cobra II is not for that solution.

Bahrain also has a small army which has been now incorporated into the peninsula shield force, which is basically an Army designed out of all 6 GCC countries to repel foreign invasions and deal with insurgents and terrorists.

The PSF is designed to be a fast deployment force , so they might consider going for a cobra 2 .
