why don't you put your money where your big mouth is and invite a couple of millions of afghans into your country? you're a helpful ally, right? give them some jobs and let's see some real work instead of just rehtoric against Pakistan. Truth is you're just all talk on paper, meanwhile Pakistan has done and continues to do real good things for Afghani people. 5 million of them are in our cities.

We are trying to do one better by helping Afghanistan build infrastructure in Afghanistan only and kick start the economy, instead of taking a short cut of opening doors to refugees in a hope of them becoming productive workers contributing to Pakistani GDP..

Well, there is 1.5 billion dollar worth of Indian taxpayer money trying to help Afghanistan get back to normalcy... I say that's some pretty heavy real work.. What have you got.. Except using Afghan immigrants as cheap labor in your country...

they have great businesses in Pak, they own properties and many live a very affluent life. We've accommodated them before and will continue to do so. But maybe now India should step up to the plate too. Dont give me your figures invested into Afghan that's for your economy. Where they need help is their nationals going to India, working there and sending money back to help their families. Why can't good friend India do that for Afghans? or it's just sand and fog friendship that should only benefit india.

I'll believe India's goodwill for Afghanistan and it's people when they open their doors to Afghan people. Or are they too afraid of the turban wearing pushtoons walking their streets taking their jobs? The rest is just words. So far the only one to be beneficial of Afghan-India relations is is India. Afghanistan has gotten diddly squat from India. Shrewd indian politics say a few sweet words to Afghans and they go ga-ga over them. Why help them in the real sense when words can do the job.

Despite our bad economic situation we have spent more than 500 million dollars in afghanistan,given scholarships to thousands of afghan students,medical assistance,everything.... not to forget more than 4 million afghans who live n enjoy free facilities given to the average Pakistani citizen,use our highways,ports etc.

Not to forget the smuggled livestock,cement,veggies,wheat etc tht afghans use come from Pakistan.....

Its a shallow friendship that necessitates people from their home country to come to your country and work there to earn a livlihood.. We'd rather help them rebuild their nation so that not only the people who are willing to be expats are able to earn for their families, but also the ones who would like to stay back in their own country.. Friendship is not just allowing people to come to your country as refugees and then cribbing over internet forums on how they are over loading your infrastructure and adding to crime..

And again, isnt it up to Afghans to decide whether friendship with India is just sand and fog or is real like higher than himalayas and deeper than oceans..

Help them.. right.. kill their society by sending in terror troops (taliban) and then continuously keep them embroiled in a civil war to attain some idiot's concept of strategic depth ..

Does the half a billion dollars include the material aid Pakistan provides to groups like Haqquani ??

Pakistan poured miltary assistance into Afghanistan during soviet invasion .. that was a great job done by pakistan... but no rehabilitation, human rights protection , womens right protection or educational support or moral intervention during the dark age of Taliban .. when pakistan had the most influence on taliban government.... why ?????

The afghans had started fighting the russians long before that ... n the madrassas were created by saudis... Which american "GO AHEAD".

and taliban was unleashed into afghanistan bringing about the most draconian rule in the history of the modern civilization.

Mullah omar come to the lime light on his own.... n the taliban were the same people whom USA considered holy warriors.

Because a good friend is one who supports a regime which destroys you, and then this "friend" keep your nationals as refugees.

And hey, even if some other country (india) invest in the infrastructure for a good cause, they are still the enemy of that country. You see, friends invite refugees, while enemies invest in infrastructure!
