Saudi Arabia: Non-Muslims trapped in Medina

Thirty Flyglobespan crew members are stranded in the Muslim holy city of Medina in Saudi Arabia.

The airline had a contract to carry passengers between Delhi in India and Medina for the Hajj pilgrimage.

Flyglobespan captain Bob Lee revealed that the crew members have been confined to their hotel for at least four days because, as non-Muslims, they are not allowed to move around the city.

He said crew members were unable to get seats on flights out of Medina because of the huge demand.

Capt Lee said 1,000 Flyglobespan passengers from India were also trying to find alternative flights home, adding to the difficulties facing the crew.

Katrina McBride, from Fife, said: “My daughter and a number of other crew who work for Flyglobespan are currently based in Saudi and India – who’s looking after them? Who will bring them home, when and how soon?

“We are currently in limited communication with my daughter who is in a state of panic.

“She has already phoned, crying her eyes out worrying about what will happen, who will pay her hotel bill as she been working out there for almost six weeks?”

I see this decision as acceptance by India of Two-Nation theory. The resemblance with the division of India and creation of Pakistan is noticeable. The verdict was expected and we cannot expect justice from Hindu India.

One of my closest muslim freind (Mr.Rizvi) once told me " all sunni muslims in India & pakistan are converted ones by invaders from middle east ,who themselves were all shia muslims, the real muslims.

Please don't be misinformed by people who make sweeping statements. A Rizvi implies he is a Shia and this shows the inherent supremacist attitude, similar to many Pakistanis on this forum where they think they are of Arab descent and being of "India blood" is somehow derogatory.

Oh come on. One Mosque was was demolished two decades back by a group of fanatics, and I completely disagree with their action. The fact that the issue has been disputed for more than 60 years, and a court has delivered an impartial verdict speaks volumes about India's secular credentials. In a country with an overwhelming Hindu majority, if India had been similar to some Muslim countries (which I will not name here), the Mosque would have been demolished on day1 with no further arguments or disputes.

Im Hindu and Bharat is the HQ of hinduism and Ayodha is birthplace of Lord Ram no1 can tell me otherwise.

Where were the secular credentials when the authorities let the demolition of babri masjid? When thousands of muslims were butchered and burnt alive?

it was a civil title suit which was decided on the basis of pleadings,Indian Evidence Act and Code of Civil Procedure
so both court and parties were bound to follow the procedure
and if anyone is not happy with this verdict of allahabad high court then he can knock the door of Hon'ble Supreme Court
friends dont doubt about its fairness because it is same judicial system which had given verdict against Indira Gandhi an iron lady when she was primeminister of this country
again in the bench of three judges the was also a Muslim Justice S U Khan and there was no presser on him being a high court judge because in India High court judge has great powers and Protocol
sooo please first read 8500 pages judgement and then speek something about it
