Azerbaijan's JF-17 Thunder Acquisition: Updates & Discussions

I think Raad is still not integrated with Jf17. Any confirmation with source and proof will be appreciated.

You might be correct but there are ALCM in jf-17 mission profile.

Jf-17 has a MAR-1 mission profile as well which makes it quite deadly against SAM and RADARs.

No, you should be clear on what You mean and what you post ... afterwards telling we are stupid since we misunderstood your intention is dishonest.

Calm down. He didnt even quote you there.

On topic,

Azeris have asked for a customized block 2 variant wit AESA, LDP and EW suite. I really dont think it will cost them anything less than $35 million a piece, minimum. The LFK601E has already been qualified on blk 2 thunders right?

As for aesa upgrade for PAF's existing blk 2s, it is the plan and will happen gradually when the budget/ requirement is there.

I know MAR 1 is part of Jf17 weapons inventory, but Raad is a cruise missile for destroying strategic targets and must be in any shape should be part of it. Paf has never even discussed its integration on thunders. Sad

RAAD is integrated on jf-17 but cannot be sold due to its minimum range exceeding MTCR limitations.

So far there is nothing concrete evidence or anything resembling it that there will be a new engine in Block 3. And even if were as you say, engines are not PLUG N PLAY.
And from what can be gathered from some members who are "actually knowledgeable" power is not an issue for the radar in question atleast.
Hmm ok but what about power? I think this was one of the reasons for it to be considered for block 3 as by than a more powerful chinese domestic engines would be matured enough to be used in JF-17.

Jf-17 can carry 2 RA'AD missiles. It can also carry GB 6 as well.

Sir why paf do not declare it in public or while in air shows?
In air show only weapons that can be sold are declared. RA'AD cannot be sold because of it range and it's ability to carry nuclear warhead.

@salman-1 Jf-17 has 2 options for anti-radiation role. Late Pakistan China jointly developed CM-102 is also available along MAR-1

Actually the engine would be plug and play, that was the whole purpose of JF-17 modular design to begin with, replace the engine with a chinese one as soon as one is available and certified to be use in a single engine jet. However as Oscar said we will continue to use RD-93 as it serves the purpose.

Jf-17 was designed as a modular aircraft to begin with. Everything from avionics, radar and engine can be replaced if the customer wants with minor modifications.

Notice the difference in the diameter of the fuselage and the nozzle of RD-93. Plug and play at work.

Isn't this strange that 16 JF-17 were sold to Myanmar worth $560 Million

While Azerbaijan is buying 24 JF-17 worth $500 Million
