Azerbaijan supports Saudi-led operation

im not saying it to anybody, but just to confirm, there is bad word in Turkish actually mean the same, which says "anani, arvadini sikeyim", which is the same meaning...
its old Turkish word, the same is used in Azerbaijani.
Actually, there are many Azeri iranians come to Azerbaijan for Novruz. i dont really find any big differences.. as a said before, Turkish people havent heard those type of speaking, once they get used to it, it is so easy, as Iranian Azeris watch Turkish movies and understand it very well..

me watching Hababam Sinifi and SHaban movies when i was child... )
A couple old Turkic words became perverted in modern Turkish.

Yeah indeed my mother always pushed me to watch:D My dad even watches, poor Fars haha. Yeah, it is the best way to quickly fill up the voids in my Turkish vocabulary, we're talking about simple Turkish here, if I watch a debate on Ulusal Kanal, I can't understand half:D. I guess I'll start watching some of those mafia dizis. I work at a law firm, where pretty much everybudy is Dutch-Turkish, so my formal lingo is up to snuff.

Oh lord indeed, yarak and pezevenk:D:D Demirel bey!

Lol you know it? Demirel is the biggest troll President in Turkish history.

Of course. It's a yearly routine when the family is gathered around the table in the summer in TR and jokes around the funny differences. Also, sumuksuz et/ tavuk:D. I love it. I don't know how sumuk and kemik got mixed, but it cracks me up. Weird how my Azeri family never forgets the difference between sumuk and kemik when they order meat at the kasap.

BTW what happened to the Mehmetcik yarak?? (the rifle I mean to be sure)

Azerbaijani "sümük" is from Old Turkic "süñüg", which means "bone" (ñ-n>m changes do occur, for example "qonşu" has become "komşu" in Turkish). Turkish "kemik" is from Old Türkic "kemürdek" (kıkırdak in Turkish, gəmirçək/qığırdaq in Azerbaijani), which means cartilage. As for Turkish "sümük" in the meaning of snort, it's sümkürük>sümürük>sümük.

Thanks, nice to know. Indeed as a foreign born Turk, and only half Turkish at that, this kind of info is new to me. Which Turkic language is closest to the 'real' or original Turks do you think? I mean the Central Asian Turks? I knowTurkish Turkish has a lot of European and Arab words in it. I wonder which one is the real thing.

The word sümkürmek is still being used widely in Turkey.

Can anyone explain. Git manna bir arvat tap!

Git bana bir avrat kap. :)

Go and fetch me a woman....He have the same word "Avrat" but in daily use, we say "Kadın" instead.

Believe me man...we and understand eachother clearly. :)

I didn't know avrat was a Turkish word honestly, never heard somebody from Turkey say that. Cool, probably 'old' Turkish or what not. Only ever heard of kadin and bayan. Anyway, yes obviously the languages are pretty much the same. But I remember always with my Azeri enistes in Turkey, when we went shopping for example, and they went full blown Tabriz Azeri, people would scratch their heads:D Then they'd revert to Istanbul Turkcesi.
There is a Turk saying "At, Avrat, Pusat"..... Horse, Woman, Weapon.

Although we don't use Pusat no more...we say "Silah" instead. Which is a Arabic loanword.
