When people do not understand about UN resolutions, legal status of NK etc. I just tell them to open google maps and look at the borders. It is that simple. That is Azerbaijan's territory, period. That is why Armenia attacks civilian areas to provoke Azerbaijan to retaliate straight to Armenia. Or telling lies about attacks on yerevan etc. The only way to get a 3rd nation involved. Because in paper Azerbaijan and Armenia is not at war.But with Arsakth or whatever the name is. No country will assist an unrecognized state in somebody elses occupied land. And I can only laugh at people showing ethnicity numbers to justify this crap. The world doesn't work like that. Otherwise miami should be Cuba's.

They are right, taking Madaghis directly like that initially was a mistake while it was surrounded on three sides by tall peaks. Azeris pounded the hills with artillery but the Armenians were well dug in, they had decades to prepare their defences. Shortly after that, the Azeris began to successfully jam the Armenians and then the drones wrecked havoc on those mountain peaks. The Azeris now control those peaks where we can see the Armenians firing on the approaching Azeris. Now Madaghis and the neighbouring Talish are firmly in hands of the Azeris.

I don’t think Azerbaijan wants to go much beyond plains, and consolidating its hold on these retaken territories. The further it goes into mountains, not only is it more expensive and riskier, but their supply lines are extended and the whole operation becomes much more complicated.

Rich Azerbaijan most likely do not want all Karabakh and to raise all these poor armenian there to the standards of living, unless she can kicked every Armenian out. This possibly could draw a reluctant Russia into the conflict.

Azerbaijan has limited objective.

The East NK plains was not as populated with Armenian but the area is large enough. That’s a very large political achievement for President Aliyev. He will be able to know as a great leader and people will forget his corruption.

Diplomatically right now Russia is neutral and in reality Russia is more inclined towards helping Azerbaijan than Armenia.

The Azeris need to do a armour thrust in the south the flat lands and take hold to choke the supply lines don’t know why they waiting so long.
