Featured Azerbaijan Armenian War

Not so similar but worth pondering, amidst the Armenia Azerbaijan conflict.

**************

Amid increasing tensions on the western border between Afghanistan and Pakistan, former Afghan president Hamid Karzai in a tweet on Sunday said Pakistan has "no legal authority to dictate terms on the Durand Line".

Hillarious

What is Israel's stand on this issue, which country do you support?

Azerbaycan exports oil to Israel, however Israel has deep ties with Armenian nationalists and terrorists, just like they do with Serbs, and other crusader allies of Iran.

It makes you wonder about the credentials of an Islamic Republic which supports the virulently Islamophobic enemies of all its neighboring Muslim countries, such as India, NA of Afghanistan, Azeris, Serbs, etc.

That's fine Pakistan can make a new border to the west of the Durand line.

And interestingly enough, Azerbaijan is overwhelmingly Shia majority.

I bring that up the Shia part to make a point about Iranian (or the Saudis for that matter) international policies not necessarily revolving around sect or religion, even though at times the policies of both align with actors belonging to the majority sects in each country.

I have suggested earlier Armenia may need to unite with Iran.
You think an orthodox Christian population could actually be happy as part of an extremely conservative, theocratic Islamic State like Iran?

Are Armenian women (and men) going to be OK with the lifestyle restrictions Iran has in place for its own populace, especially women?

A Turkish F-16 fighter jet has shot down an Armenian Air Force Su-25, Yerevan has announced. It happened three days after a military conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan broke out over the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region.
Officials in Yerevan said the incident took place in Armenian airspace and that the pilot of the Su-25 pilot was killed.

The attack comes hours after Ankara said that it would help Azerbaijan repel “Armenian aggression,” offering both diplomatic and military assistance. Armenia said earlier that it was prepared to use Russian-made Iskander ballistic missiles in the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh region if Turkey deploys its American-built F-16 fighter jets in support of the Azeri offensive.

The Azeri senior defense officials on Monday dismissed as “disinformation” reports that Turkish F-16 fighters were supporting Azerbaijani troops.

The government of Armenia claimed that the Turkish F-16 took off from an airbase inside Azerbaijan.

Fighting between Armenia and Azerbaijan broke out on Sunday, after Azeri and ethnic Armenian soldiers exchanged fire. The region of Nagorno-Karabakh is internationally recognized as part of Azerbaijan but is populated by ethnic Armenians. Baku considers the enclave to be illegally occupied by Yerevan. Both sides have accused one another of killing civilians. The longtime rivals have also engaged in a propaganda war, posting videos allegedly showing military hardware that they destroyed on the battlefield.
