Those are Soviet era hardware. The only Russian hardware Azerbaijan bought post USSR is S-300PMU2.

Armenia is getting Russian Orion UCAV and Chinese Wing Loong 2 UCAV. UAE used Wing Loong 2 in Libya against Turkey backed GNA with great effectiveness. In addition, Armenia mades its own kamikaze drones.

Why didn't they have a referendum as soon as the war started to avoid al the casualties?

Because that's not how it works. It will remain occupied territory and if it isn't regained in this war, there will be another more competent leader in another war.

I mean AZ might just give up on it and gift it to Armenia. Its up to them.

But I'd be shocked if Armenia returned anything when it knows the cost fo returning it by force is huge for AZ.

It didn't join for political reasons. NK residents all have Armenian citizenship. They didn't join because Azerbaijan by itself can't take NK. Now with Erdogan's backing Azerbaijan can take NK so that's why they will join Armenia by referendum and therefore come under Russian protection by CSTO treaty.
