16.In 1989, a Soviet pilot ejected a perfectly working MIG 23 thinking the plane’s engine had failed. It flew over 560 miles, crossing Germany before running out of fuel and crashing into a house in Belgium killing one teenager

17.As impressive as the Lockheed SR-71 was, it had a secret older brother (the A-12) which was even faster, lighter, and had a higher service ceiling

18."Cornfield Bomber" An F-106 made an unpiloted landing in a farmer's field in Montana, suffering only minor damage, after the pilot had ejected from the aircraft. The aircraft, recovered and repaired, was returned to service, and is currently on display at the National Museum of the United States Air Force.

Click on source.......:-)

Np 2 still is dubious, the people on that forum are also not sure, it's sort of those 1 in a trillion things!

No 13 makes sense now though considering the whole scenario, but it wasn't due to the aircraft flying at high speed which was the major factor...

At least one of them is not dubious but scandalous.
Imagine the quality or reliability of parachutes during the second world war, the jumper would be holding on to sdear life rather than practising heroics and what are the chances of them being flying parallel for one to have time to pull out his gun, aim and fire.
As for other....
"The F-11 Tiger is noted for being the first jet aircraft to shoot itself down. On 21 September 1956, during a test firing of its 20 mm (.79 in) cannons, pilot Tom Attridge fired two bursts mid-way through a shallow dive. As the velocity and trajectory of the cannon rounds decayed, they ultimately crossed paths with the Tiger as it continued its descent, disabling it and forcing Attridge to crash land the aircraft. The pilot survived.''
