Seems plausible, But F11 topped out at 727 mph, and a 20mm from Mk12 had a mv of 2259.36 mph

At the speed of Mach 1 and the angle at which the bullets were fired ( with the air becoming denser) the bullets encountered an extreme amount of air resistance which could have reduced the speed and modified the trajectory of the projectiles afterwards.So, it seems possible.
