I don't know about the rest of India but in my area families don't necessarily buy a 2nd car. Mostly its one car and 2 motorcycles for every family.The reasons are 1. High price of petrol and diesel cars are more expensive 2. Lack of parking space (usually houses are built with one parking space) 3. High traffic (Most people i know use their motorcycles to go to their offices as its more economical and less time consuming and use their cars only for family outing or long trips).

You are citing me polls that under the supervision of your govt? That have no integrity attached to it's numbers?. Our poor have cell phones, refrigators, landlines, PC's at home. The average American has what $45-48,000 in income, what does yours?

As I said repeatedly, you prove my initial reply to you- as being right on the money. I could care less what the situation was in India. But then, over a years period of reading these forums off and on, I saw you Chinese as bullies on this forum and decided to stand for Indians.

You guys taunt them on every occasion, troll on their topics here. You Chinese seem to be fixated in comparing yourselves to India, an economy that is more than 1/3 less compared to your GDP. I find it ironical that you a " developing" country , majority of your populous lives in a 3rd world ****-hole conditions, compares them to Africa.

Touche. Beijing have already come up with new regulations about cars after the city got 5 million registered cars.

Out of that 1/3 goes to the Leviathanian government. As for the rest hasn't changed a lot since a long time ago which make it difficult to make a living with the ever increasing prices.

The percentage of car owners in new York is close to 8 times that of China. What is up with this Afghanistan fixation, it does not even make sense.

I wish to share one thought I have each time I visit China.

Almost all two wheelers I see in cities are battery powered, this is wonderful. I wish this could be emulated in India.

Lastly, instead of being antagonistic, we should grow together.

OP started thread to say india is developing country and china is superpower.

OK Congrates, China is a superpower happy now,

But fact is we indians purchase more of indian brands (thats why tata, bajaj, Mahindra maruti sell more cars than foreign brands)while chinese people like to purchase foreign brands more than their own cars. May be they dont trust their own brands.

Can somebody post percent of foreign brand cars vs local brand car in china and india.

Hero Motors alone sell about 4 million motorcycles per year..then there is Bajaj, TVS, Yamaha, Suzuki etc.
