لندن ـ "القدس العربي" ـ من احمد المصري ـ قالت البحرين السبت انه تم ضبط خلية تخطط لاستهداف مبنى وزارة الداخلية والسفارة السعودية في المملكة وجسر الملك فهد الذي يربط البحرين بالسعودية وإلقاء القبض على اعضائها.
ونقلت وكالة انباء البحرين عن المتحدث باسم وزارة الداخلية العميد طارق الحسن المتحدث الرسمي باسم وزارة الداخلية خلال مؤتمر صحافي اقيم مساء السبت انه تم ضبط خلية تخطط لتنفيذ عمليات إرهابية ضد منشآت حيوية وأشخاص في المملكة .

واوضح انه قد ورد اتصال رسمي من السلطات الأمنية بدولة قطر إلى نظيرتها البحرينية، مفاده بأنها تمكنت من القبض على أربعة مواطنين بحرينيين، كانوا قد دخلوا دولة قطر عبر الحدود البرية مع المملكة العربية السعودية، وأثناء اتخاذ السلطات القطرية المختصة، إجراءات التفتيش الجمركية للسيارة التي كانوا يستقلونها، تم العثور على بعض المستندات والأوراق وجهاز حاسوب، تضمنت معلومات ذات أهمية أمنية وتفاصيل عن بعض المنشآت والجهات الحيوية وحجوزات طيران إلى سورية.

واضاف المتحدث انه تم العثور معهم على مبالغ مالية بالدولار الأمريكي والتومان الإيراني.

وأشار المتحدث الرسمي باسم وزارة الداخلية الى أن السلطات الأمنية بدولة قطر اتخذت إجراءات التحقيق مع المتهمين الذين أقروا بمغادرتهم البحرين بطرق غير مشروعة بتحريض من آخرين للتوجه إلى إيران، عبوراً بدولتي قطر وسورية، وذلك بقصد إنشاء تنظيم للقيام بعمليات إرهابية مسلحة بالبحرين ضد بعض المنشآت الحيوية والأشخاص .

وذكر انه بعد التنسيق مع السلطات الأمنية القطرية تسلمت السلطات البحرينية، المتهمين الأربعة مساء الجمعة 4 تشرين الثاني (نوفمب&#1585 الحالي لاتهامهم بالتخطيط لتنفيذ جرائم وبدأ على الفور التحقيق معهم بمعرفة جهات التحقيق المختصة، وبسؤالهم عما هو منسوب إليهم من تهم اعترفوا بأنهم كانوا يستهدفون جسر الملك فهد ومبنى وزارة الداخلية والسفارة السعودية بالمملكة وأشخاصا، كما اعترف المتهمون الأربعة على شخص خامس، اتضح أنه موجود في البحرين، وتم القبض عليه وإحالة المتهمين الخمسة إلى النيابة العامة.​

Qatari authorities help Bahrain to bust a terror cell allegedly planning to blow the King Fahd Causeway as well as the embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Manama and other strategic installations and individuals.

The Ministry of Interior spokesperson confirmed on Saturday that a terror cell, which was planning to carry out attacks against vital installations and individuals in the Kingdom of Bahrain, has been unearthed.

The Qatari security authority officially called its Bahraini counterparts after the arrest of four Bahrainis who had entered Qatar through Saudi Arabia.

The concerned Qatari authority found documents and a laptop containing sensitive security information with details about targets and vital establishments in Bahrain, as well as airline bookings to Syria, in the possession of the suspects. A significant amount of cash in US Dollars and Iranian Toman were also found in the suspects’ possession.

Qatar’s Security Authority questioned the suspects and enquiries revealed that the suspects had illegally left Bahrain after being incited by others to go to Iran, passing through Qatar and Syria, to establish a group that would carry out armed terrorist operations in Bahrain against vital establishments and individuals.

After co-ordination with Qatari security forces and as part of co-ordination between GCC countries and the framework of security co-ordination agreements and exchange of information, Bahraini authorities received the four suspects on 4 November 2011 who were charged with planning terror crimes. Legal procedures have been taken against the suspects and physical evidence has been confiscated. Investigations were immediately launched by concerned investigation bodies.

The investigation thus far has confirmed that the suspects were planning to target the King Fahd Causeway, a Ministry of Interior building, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and individuals. The four suspects also provided details about a fifth individual in Bahrain and he was arrested. The five suspects have been referred to the Public Prosecutor.

The Ministry of Interior expresses its sincere thanks and appreciation to the Qatari security authorities for their efforts and co-operation, as well as the critical integration between GCC security authorities.

TERROR PLOT FOILED

MANAMA: Bahrain has foiled a major terror plot targeting its vital installations.

Four members of a terror cell, with alleged links to Iran, were arrested in Qatar and a fifth in Bahrain, Interior Ministry spokesman Brigadier Tariq Al Hassan said yesterday.

Their list of targets included the Interior Ministry building, the King Fahad Causeway and the Saudi embassy in Bahrain, he said.

"Four Bahrainis who had entered Qatar through Saudi Arabia were caught with documents and a laptop containing sensitive security information and details about some places and vital establishments in Bahrain, as well as airline bookings to Syria," Brig Al Hassan said at a Press conference at the Interior Ministry Officers Club, Gudaibiya.

"Significant amounts of US and Iranian currency were also found on them."

Brig Al Hassan said initial questioning of the suspects by the Qatari security authorities revealed the men had left Bahrain illegally after being incited by others to travel to Iran, passing through Qatar and Syria.

He said they intended to establish a group to carry out armed terrorist operations in Bahrain against vital establishments and people.

Brig Al Hassan said the four suspects were handed over to Bahraini authorities on November 4 and have been charged with plotting terror activities.

"Legal procedures have now been taken against the suspects and physical evidence has been confiscated," he said.

Brig Al Hassan said the suspects provided details about a fifth man in Bahrain, who was later arrested.

All five have been referred to the Public Prosecution.

MP Abdulhaleem Murad called on authorities to adopt firm measures to punish those who tamper with Bahrain's security, the safety of its people and its relationship with neighbours.

He said the terror cell is a blatant Iranian attempt to destabilise the kingdom and its relationship with Saudi Arabia.
