Can Pakistani members here give some authentic information about Kargil war? Media - Indian or any other country’s - is not trustworthy.

There are some PDF members whose family or at least friends or relatives were on ground zero during Kargil war. They know someone who have actually fought that war.

They can give authentic answers to these questions. They should oblige.

First Query: Which rifle was used the most by Indian soldiers in that war? Rifles from various countries may have been used but which one was in majority with Indian army in 1999 Kargil?

Edit-Add: Despite categorically stating not to post from media sources, many repliers are doing same.

An example of the kind of source I want to read from: There was someone on PDF whose own father fought in 1999 Kargil and he gave detailed account on PDF of what his father did in the war. Such persons can authenticate the information.

So what was the rifle mostly used by Indians?

I can tell you that I have met people who fought on Kargil peaks... they were wounded and they were not pak army.... unlike your media tells u...

Heres someone who was a Lt General in Pakistan Army during Kargil:

most of it is political.real information is the one given by ISPR.
many general were unhappy because of a junior general musharraf becoming their chief. they tried to make every thing controversial.
Nawaz shareef was sent to jail and exile. it made him anti army.
after Pakistan army shared whole information including names and locations of deaths, this whole thread is baseless.

Pakistan army never lies about deaths and from many generation of relation with this organization and whole family in army, I can guarantee that the army shared true information.

is he in politics....

good in denying facts

If he is denying them then your own Neta has no reason to tell lies....as he reveals the facts as it happened.

we don't know about the guns.we fall back because there was pressure from the americans.we wanted to continue the war but diplomatic failure resulted the end of war.it was not a defeat.india can say that it was a defeat.for them,it was the time of joy and happiness.for us,we now believe that despite few in numbers, we can still attack on indian army.it was kind of a confidence.if you look at our response after kargil,it's basically equal response everywhere even on loc.general musharraf wanted siachen and there was a chance but diplomatic failure made things worst.but now pak army is confident and more aggressive thanks to general musharraf.

Indian leaders were not running to Washington. Nawaz Sharif did not fly to Washington on his own. He was asked by the Pakistani army to go to Washington.

Consequence of the Kargil war is no one outside Pakistan trusts the Pakistani army
