Atul Auto forays in Bangladesh with 6 seater vehicle

Launches Atul Gem in the neighbouring country.

Foraying into Bangladesh for the first time, Rajkot-based Atul Auto has launched its Atul Gem rear engine six seater passenger vehicle in the neighbouring country through Atul Autos Bangladesh Ltd.

While Atul Auto Ltd will provide technical assistance to Atul Autos Bangladesh Ltd., the latter has tied up with Bangladesh Machine Tools Factory for assembling the passenger vehicle. One of the largest three wheeler manufacturers and leader in front engine diesel and CNG 3 wheeler, Atul Auto will supervise the assembling work of the vehicles at Atul Autos Bangladesh Ltd., said Niraj Chandra, deputy general manager - marketing, Atul Auto Ltd.

Speaking at the launch, Dilip Barua, Industries Minister, Bangladesh showed his satisfaction for the vehicle and indicated that Bangladesh Government would provide tax holiday if Atul Auto intends to build a factory there. "They will also get the opportunity to take their all profit through remittance, as it develops employment and industrialisation by encouraging auto industry in Bangladesh," said Barua.

A rear engine three wheeler vehicle with state of art technology, Atul Gem was launched in June 2009. The three wheeler vehicle comes in two models – Cargo, the goods carrier and Paxx, the passenger carrier. Commenting on the technical tie-up, Chandra said, "Atul Auto vehicles do get remarkable responses from all over India specially rural and semi rural areas. Add to that, Atul Auto passenger and commercial vehicles having exclusive strength and capacity.”

He added, “Bangladesh has tremendous potential to develop the automobile sector and we have confidence on our products and the performance - which will again prove to be one of the preferred three wheeler in Bangladesh market." According to Chandra, in the first full year the company expects Rs 20 crore sales from this association in Bangladesh. The company's manufacturing facility at Rajkot in the state of Gujarat, produces diesel as well as GNG/LPG operated three wheeled commercial vehicles.

@ Again three wheeler vehicles ????? My foot, I remember back in 80's Bangladesh govt used to import these three wheeler tampo from India. At that time I saw these were plying from Mirpur 10 no "Golchakkor" to Kuchukhet 14 no.

@ Really these three wheeler vehicles are ugly looking and it makes lot of accidents. Later on, govt put a restriction on these tampos and now La-Hasina is permitting not only to import even to establish their plants in Bangladesh. God saves Bangladesh ????????

@ Where are we going ? Or some where elses ???? Al-Zaker, Will you comment please ? Even, now a days we donnot find in India also ?????? All radddi mal !!!!!!!!!

It is better to go for buses rather than three wheelers. More three wheelers = more congestion.

Public transport is in a sorry state in Bangladesh.

This is not a proper vehicle to commute around in:

Please, replace these mechanical abominations with actual buses and most importantly, maintain them.

Evil Indian Plan to create Traffic Jams ....

You'd think that economic power like Bangladesh would manufacture its own 3 wheelers at least :cheesy:. Heck even Pakistan makes its own three wheelers!

are you doctor??
i mean have you done PHd on India?
you should be a THINK TANK too on PDF..

You guys seriously have very high expectations and even greater hatred. At the end of the day these will be bought by common men who want to make a living. The lower costs of these means lower prices for commuters as well. You can buy cars to replace them but seriously how many can afford them both as a buyer and commuter. These are still common in India as well. Just because there is increasing prosperity in India and Bangladesh does not mean that it is spread evenly. These do the job just fine may not be swanky but has 100% utility.

Bangladesh has been importing three wheelers from India for a long time.

Here in Bangalore we like the Volvo buses more. They are far more superior that Marcopolo bus which are very noisy.

Speaking of Volvo buses, there were many in Bangladesh once. And they were expensive too. A very sad story.

The Volvos were really good, and very expensive. They just didn't maintain them

And they were government operated.

Just giving an idea as to what public transport and commuting in Bangladesh is like ;)
