Iranians are very moderate in their religions. Number of young people in Iran being Muslims is decreasing.

1. Do average Iranians fear of war with west? and can they pressurize the ruling regime to tone down little?

Saddam was supported by West, Iran was anti-West, India was pro-Soviet, Pre-revolution Iranian regime supported Pakistan in 65 and 71. Then how India helping Iraq possible during cold war.

Not at all. In fact I would welcome Iran into SAARC, but the SAARC as I see is defunct.
