Arun Shourie says Narendra Modi is BJP's PM candidate

Excerpts from the interview of Former Union Minister and BJP leader Arun Shourie with Karan Thaper:

Karan Thapar: What would you say to people who say he (Modi) is divisive, he frightens minority, he will rupture India's communal harmony?

Arun Shourie: At the moment what the country wants is not divisive but decisive leadership and he has certainly demonstrated that.

Karan Thapar: If he becomes BJP's PM candidate which looks quite likely...

Arun Shourie: He is BJP's PM candidate.

Karan Thapar: Will he unite the party behind him or could he fracture the top leadership like Sushma Swaraj's, LK Advani's?

Arun Shourie: I will not speak about stateless leaders in Delhi.

Karan Thapar: Stateless leaders in Delhi?

Arun Shourie: Yes, that's Gyani Ji's description. He said 'India mein do tarah ke leaders hain, state leaders like Kamraj, SK Patil or dooje stateless leaders VP Singh'. (There are two kinds of leaders in India - state leaders like Kamraj, SK Patil and the second kind are stateless leaders like VP Singh)

Karan Thapar: So you are comparing Sushma and Advani to VP Singh?

Arun Shourie: I am not comparing them to anybody in Delhi. I'm saying that Modi has united the party at the grassroot level as far as I can see. I am not in touch with the party, but if that is the party of workers and volunteers are all for him, I am sure that people in Delhi will now reconcile with him.

The sooner Modi is declaredas PM candidate OFFICIALLY, the better for BJP and NDA in large. Not that it would come as a surprise, but by not doing so, BJP is playing in hands of Congress.

If BJP feel by projecting Modi, the NDA can achieve 271 then they will else, they will keep there options open... If they want Support of BJD, TMC, BSP or SP they will keep there cards open..

no roll back, senior BJP leaders have clarified on record that policies can be tweaked (as it is the right of a govt.), but there will be no roll-back.

.

Highly unlikely & if Modi is at helm, well nearly impossible. & in anycase indian economy is struggling a bit, so irrespective of whoever is in power, govt won't take a decession that will scare foreign investors. I mean we've seen what restrospective taxation did, so we can rule out any roll back.

.
Retail in fdi will bring only peanuts while bringing up the import bill significantly. And after walmart has refused to source 30 % of the expendible stuff like milk, meat etc from india govt has lowered this limit to like 20%(not sure, pls clarify someone).........i am not too sure what purpose will it serve

But the real reforms to watch out for are

1)pension reforms

2)insurance reforms

3)good and services act(gst)

4)land acquisition bill(most imp as no land is available for new projects as ppl and activists start protesting)

5)mining bill

6)rejecting the food security bill

Is this same Arun Shourie who wrote Book against Islam?

. . . .
Is this same Arun Shourie who wrote Book against Islam?

Yes the same Arun Shourie whose community was massacred and exiled out forcefully by 'pious peaceful' Muslims from Kashmir.

Any problems?

No body wants to die by writing a book against religion of Peace.

That will burn a lot of people up here. :D

Cool it down, bro.
