I am not sure if our army operates any UAVs. But anyways, a good UAV with a good sensor package is very important in any modern battle field scenario.
Why do you think the PLA are rushing toward UAV development? The USA already operates state of the art UAVs. They are great for scouting, and often hard to spot by the enemy.
F-7 is a fighter, jets going over 900 mph are limited. Combat helicopters can fly low, and avoid too much exposure to radar, given that they have the right avionics and sensor packages. Similar to the Longbow Apache.
They can also be equipped with good sensor equipment such that our porous borders can be better protected. Currently, the India-Bangladesh border has all sorts of shenanigans going on. They are:
1. Piracy.
2. Smuggling.
3. Drug trafficking.
4. Human trafficking.
5. Armed foreign groups such as ULAF.
6. Possibility of terrorists.
While I commend that there are efforts by our armed forces to resolve these issues, I still think more needs to be done for the sake of security, and that the Indians have less to about. That's when right equipment comes to mind.
What attack helicopter? I personally like the MI-28. It looks mean and it is pretty advanced
I hope they get some 'real' military choppers.
Tiki,
Good analysis. Do you think a 48 tonne tank is a little too heavy for Bangladeshi terrain? Its too heavy in my opinion. I have not seen a single South East Asian nation operating a tank that heavy
Well, hope the BD army knows what its doing

I dont see the logic behind buying such old and cheap tanks developed in early 1990s. There are variety of newly designed tanks available worldwide and in China. Why didnt BD go for T96 or T99. Even the chinese abandoned this unlucky child MBT2000 after giving birth (Chinese dont operate a single MBT2000 themselves)
This is Russian MI28. India dumped this to buy 22 Apache AH-64D, because its in development phase. We will buy them once they are complete.
I suggest you do a read up on Chinese tanks before coming up with fatwas..
Both the 96 and MBT-2000 are based on the common type-90..
And each was developed according to the needs of the user.
MBT-2000 is more adaptable to however BD Army wishes to tailor it for itself.
Sour grapes i will say ... I will not buy a Lamborghini because some Revo or Maruti comes as per my needs and i can tailor it for my self (In the local garage next door). Boss give me a break. Try somewhere else. There is something called a quality product.
