Thanks for the tag, bro. Very impressive list. I think we'll have to see what's included in the Egyptian package. Wiki has this list which only includes R-73 and R-77 A2A missiles, but a decent Kh-29 & 31 load.

Between the MiGs and the Katrans, they'll certainly have a decent anti-ship arsenal with both being able to carry the Kh-31. Not sure about the Kh-35?

I'm also very curious if any of the cruise missiles will be included in the package.

These are the whole weapons suites available for the F-35.. I am quite optimistic that Egypt will get the best of them that are required for its potential missions profiles.. The Zhuk-AE is coming sooner than expected.. it was said that it will be ready in 2019, but new sources say it will be conducting its final tests in autumn 2017.. so lets cross fingers it will be deployable on the Egyptian Migs to be delivered in September or so.. This AESA radar is important for the KA-52K also, since it will carry it too..

The Zhuk-AE is coming sooner than expected.. it was said that it will be ready in 2019, but new sources say it will be conducting its final tests in autumn 2017.. so lets cross fingers it will be deployable on the Egyptian Migs to be delivered in September or so.. This AESA radar is important for the KA-52K also, since it will carry it too..

It's still baffling why they didn't wait for the AESA to be ready, or at least opt for a lower number of aircraft for the first order then increase it once the radar was ready. There's also the apprehension that the initial deployment of a brand new radar would go through growing pains, have some bugs in it that need to be worked out so even if it's ready by the end of this year, will it steam ahead from the starting line without any issues or will it be plague with problems?

That's the thing about MiG; their information is all over the place. When the radar was slated to be ready by 2020 and that the initial batch of all MiG-35's wouldn't have it and also knowing that they had issues with the cooling unit and some other things IIRC (the gimbal maybe?), then suddenly we hear that it's going to be ready for full production and use by the end of 2017 makes you a bit apprehensive. Are they rushing it? Did they suddenly decide to make it ready a lot sooner because they know that the MiG-35 isn't at its full potential without it and that might be hampering not only the fighter's foreign sales, but also for the VVS. At the least it raises these questions.

With all these incredibly sophisticated and deadly weaponry, not being able to use them to their full capacity is like a snowball effect due the unavailability of the AESA radar. If a fighter can only track 10 targets at simultaneously vs 60, that castrates not only the fighter's potency, but it snowballs and trickles to all these weapons and also the fighter's defensive capabilities.

They have been working on it since 2009..So if it is ready and thoroughly tested this year, that will be great..

With regard to the ECM system, and in combination with the electro-optical system and the passive guidance missiles, it showcases a silent passive combat system without issuing any electromagnetic waves, similar to the silent killing method on the Rafale, which combines the Spectra + OSF + Mica, which is considered one of the basics of future passive air combat.. Without relying on the radar for guidance, which is the basis of the fight against the 5th Generation fighter aircrafts, which are difficult to lock on with the radar.. This suite-system is also similar to the silent fighting system (OLS-35 + Khibiny + passive missiles) on the Sukhoi 35, and this shows Egyptian interest in silent fighting against stealth planes .
