What's new

AR Rahman's Wembley concert 'fiasco' reeks of ignorance, linguistic imperialism

Hindi is not mentioned anywhere in the adverts. Only non-English word in the asverts is a the Tamil name of a Tamil movie. AR Rehman is a Tamil. If idiot Hind-ians went thinking all Hindi all the time, that is their fault.

  Your thick skull cannot apprehend a simple fact that any ad in UK promoting an event to Indians (even in English) would be understood as the event being in Hindi (or in English worst case scenario). Forget about Indians there are Pakistanis and Afghans that attend such events. If the event was supposed to be in 50% Tamil, the same should have been communicated clearly. The organizers played a trick and promoted the event as a Hindi one to Hindi speaking audience and a Tamil one to Tamil speaking audience.

Non-Hindi states should ask all Hindi migrants to pass a test in state language within 6 months of getting employment or leave the state after 6 months. Japan has such law.

First ask the freaking lakhs of Tamilians here in Mumbai slums to learn Marathi, those poor buggers are managing with Hindi for selling their Idlis, wadas and Dosas

. .
If you idiots think India meaNs Hindi, then it is your problem.

35% of India speaks Hindi as first language, another 35% of India speaks Hindi as their second language, another 10-20% can manage with Hindi. So, some insecure and hateful morons from one state out of 29 states in India can play attention whores all they like but yes for everybody outside India, India means Hindi and not some other one state language

The ones who are thick skull are the low IQed British Sanghis, as ARR overseas concerts will have a mix of Tamil and hindi, plus from the concert theme/brochures/promotions etc should have been enough indication to these low IQed hindis what to expect in the concert. To assume Pakistani, BDs, Afghans attending the concert is an over exaggeration. This is not 60s, now Tamil (not hindi) rulez
This is just reflects the stupidity of hindis (a minority in UK) and their pampered sense of entitlement even if they are living outside H-india

racist Hindian - this thread has nothing to do with your Mumbai slum

but yes for everybody outside India, India means Hindi and not some other one state language

what a pompous croak !!! Should be true in your racial/cultural homeland - the Middle East (a Mallu stronghold) but not the case in South East Asia (Tamil majority) , definitely not in UK (Sikhs,Gujju) Canada (Sikh-Khalistan) or US (Telugu/Tamil). Bihari Hindis are in Fiji (Mauritius) btw in Fiji (Uganda) hope you remember how Rabuka (Idi Amin) kicked bihari (gujju) butts.

Tamil (not hindi) rulez :lol: Keep living in your delusions, nobody cares a hoot about Tamil outside of Tamil Nadu. Thus nobody expected ARR overseas concerts to be in even 50% Tamil. The advert which was used for promotion of the event is completely in English (not even word the Tamil is mentioned on it). I have pasted the same in the said thread, go check it. Probably the organizers knew that if it would have been a complete Tamil event published in Tamil it would have been a complete flop with 20 Tamilians in lungi attending it.

Was there a Hindi word in the advert? No. Why the hell did u idiot Hi-indians think there would be all Hindi songs? Even if there wrre no Hndi siongs it would be ok but there were atleast half were Hindi songs.

Also there was tamil in the advert. The advert says “From Roja to Rockstar, Kaatru Veliyidai and more.." A Tamil movie in Tamil words is explicitly mentioned in the advert. Only a brainless idiot would think there would be no Tamil songs.

Not very bright are you??? Okay let me do this slowly, any Indian event outside of India will be perceived to be in Hindi/English by default and not in some local state language unless and until stated otherwise. Did the organizers stated AR Rehman's journey in Hindi and Tamil cinema, no. They published adverts in English (without even mentioning anything about Tamil) fooling people who had no idea that 50% of the event would be in Tamil. The event was in UK and not Chennai for people to think automatically that it would be in Tamil.

I thought illiterate migrants coming to South think India is Hindia. I do not blame them at all because that is what was believed in Hindi states.

I thought reasonably educated people exposed to outside Hindi belt living in UK know the linguistic diversity of India. I was wrong.

Fireurimagination seem idiot or just thick headed. So I may not respond to him anymore

the concert was to commemorate ARR's 25 yrs musical journey , with started and ended with Tamil movies i.e “From Roja to Rockstar, Kaatru Veliyidai "- hence if hindi morons expected 50 % Hindi songs with no connection to his musical journey as his hindi composition is less than 10 % of his total work, then they have to blame their stupidity and ignorance

:lol: Personal attacks as expected. Okay let me do this still slowly for you to understand.

Q) In how many out of 29 states in India is Tamil spoken?
Ans: 1

Q) In how many out of 29 states in India is Hindi spoken?
Ans: 29-1 = 28 (Actually I managed quite comfortably with Hindi in TN/Chennai too)

So once in a while pull your head out the sand and see the reality around you, which language do Tamilians speak in when outside of TN? Well remain delusioned who the hell cares

2 Puducherry and Tamilnadu

Thats why Tamilnadu need to be independent from Indian occupation as it not Hindian, btw even knowing Korean /Japanese or French one can survive in Tamilnadu/Chennai. Thats why its Tamilnadu and not the BIMARU cow belt

2 Puducherry and Tamilnadu

Out of the 2 only one is a full-fledged state

Not really other than Tamil, it's English or Hindi that would be preferable. Be it Bengali, Gujarati, Marwadi, Marathi, Telugu etc etc everybody loves and cherishes their mother tongue but nobody is as insecure about your culture and language and as hateful as some of you guys. If your culture and language is so weak that it will get destroyed by speaking or understanding Hindi I pity your culture and you guys.

this thread is UK h.indians intolerance to ARR having Tamil songs in his London concert .. as for your "insecure culture blah blah" nonsense , save it for another day .. they ones whinging right now are the loser UK hindis , while Tamils and ARR are laughing all the way to the bank.

Tamils know the international value of learning English, Japanese, Korean or French as against the useless Hindi, which enough to converse with Chennai's BIMARU states' pani puri walas

Next time better have adverts in Tamil (ashamed to do that or what) instead of trying to fool others. Tamils can learn Japanese, French, Spanish or anything nobody cares a damn. Expect everybody to speak Tamil in Tamil Nadu and shamelessly speak in Hindi in other non-Hindi states nobody is as hypocrites as you guys.
