This video shows General Yehya Khan's press conference in November 1970 reiterating his intentions of holding a General elections. The elections did happen on 7th December 1970 in which Sheikh Mujeeb won East Pakistan and Zulfiqar Bhutto won West Pakistan. Both Bhutto and Mujeeb refused to accept the other's victory and Yehya Khan became the mediator. He took Bhutto to East Pakistan for face to face meetings with Mujeeb, and even that didn't work. Yehya wanted constitutional assembly to meet and change the law to give east Pakistan more autonomy and more say, but Bhutto was refusing, and the meeting was first delayed momentarily then indefinitely in March 1971. Had the Constitutional assembly session taken place, none of what happened later , had happened. Video shows news report about that episode.
Most Importantly the video shows Mujeeb saying clearly that he does not want independence but more rights.
The last section the video shows interview of the West Pakistani police officer who was deployed on Mujeeb by Bhutto while he was taken in protective custody under orders from Yehya khan probably in April 1971 . He was in the Jail with Mujeeb and tells the true story that even when Mujeeb was told by Bhutto that Pakistan army has surrendered and East Pakistan has declared Independence, Mujeeb offered him that still there is time and let him address his people on TV and Radio and he can stop a total independence but Bhutto refused.
The declaration of Independence was announced on Chittagong Radio by then Major Zia Ur Rehman not Sheikh Mujeeb. Major Zia had the backing of Tajuddin Ahmad, a close Companion of Sheikh Mujeeb.

whatever happened it was for better Alhumdulilah Pakistan and Bangladesh are two different countries ...

Mujib knew what would happen to a country like Bangladesh if she got independence. Current situation of Bangladesh is what Mujib was expecting hence wanted to stay with mainland Pakistan.

No it was not better for the country. We lost half of our population.
In order to avoid any such future tragedy, we should fully implement the 1973 constitution and give all provinces their rights. Federal govt. should only have defense, interior and foreign affairs. All other should be provincial subjects.

ok that's stupid and illogical
the 18th ammedment already killed your federation by giving all taxing rights to your provinces while your federation doesnt even get anything from them + has to share an NFC award. And even when provinces take loan, who is the guarantor? your Federation and not the province...

So please think logically with "your own mind" and not the indoctrination from media and elsewhere instead of going with an illogical demand to weaken the already weak federation.
