anyone know how emiraties are?

Hi everyone, I will be moving to UAE soon for a 2 year contract position. I am just wondering, has anyone dealt with UAE locals? are they friendly?

I was working before in Saudi and I had some horror experiences there. The Saudis really treat our people really bad, even in Makkah/Madinah.

From what I heard though through friends, UAE seems to be a progressive place and locals are much friendlier and international

in saudi arabia, you will see majority saudis i guess, but in UAE i think their own locals are in a minority and a majority is the one who are from overseas in top positions so i expect UAE to be different, they are also liberal country and not strict like saudi arabia
