If you were an Indian on August 13 1947. Would you want partition to take place or not?

That is a good question. On August 13 1947 most Indians would not have wanted the partition. But at the hind sight, it seems that the partition did a lot good to India

Thanks, you have found a stable way to transfer government power, in China, the party found one also.
There will be always uneven there, in USA, east and west part are more advanced, the states in the middle US is a bit behind. In China also like this, but the central government takes 70% of government income while the local government get 30%, the central government is investing more money in poor province.

How about the first industry-Agriculture ? In 2000, the Chinese government claims there is no hunger in China, there are still some but in general, China produces enough food. How the agriculture is running in India ? Due to the high population, I understand the problems of hungers.
In China, all the land is owned by the Govt and many lands are ensured to do farm, if I am a farmer, I can get some refund from the Govt.

Another Question>

Does India see Pakistan as more of a threat than China?

Well, frankly speaking, there are very less opportunities for full scale war.In case of a full scale war, ofcourse China poses to be a bigger threat.
We cannot deny the possibility of limited wars/skirmishes with Pakistan though.Afterall its a country that has seen four military coup in its history of about 60 years and the military general who has come to power,be it Ayub Khan,Zia or Musharraf, has not sparked much confidence among us so far as Pakistani military ambitions are concerned. One had devised Operation Gibraltar, one employed terrorism as state policy, and the another orchestrated Kargil war. So,looking at the track record,in limited scale,Pakistan poses to be more threatening.

DO NOT PUT TROLLS HERE. Please
Regards to Indians, what is your advantage and disadvantage of development ? What is the problem or challenge you are meeting inside India ?
In the next few years, how you will improve it or solve it ? Is your government showing any attitude and do something real ?
China is one-party state, after President Deng, economic development is a super priority, any other stuff even military budget is cut off. The government policy in China is quite continuous.

Long reply: bear with me.

Advantage of development, meaning positive factors - for industrialization, existing work culture, strong Indian organizations, existing style of management which is very Indian and very effective, increasing outward orientation, very strong home market, very strong native distribution and logistics systems. Against industrialization, union culture very powerful and more or less dominated by Communist parties, lack of sufficient industrial training facilities (increasing what we have ten times will not be enough), too many rules and regulations, not enough capital, not enough venture capital, not enough roads, railroads, waterways, inland navigation, air transport, idiosyncratic characteristics in indigenous management styles, insufficient buying power among poor.

There are different answers for agriculture and mining.

Inside India, the two major problems are government regulation and shortage of capital. We also need to expand logistics facilities.

Further development is blocked due to the competition among political parties for the winning position. The country is going through a difficult time as the two main parties are progressively decaying and giving way to regional parties, but administrative systems are still organized for a situation where there is a strong party at the centre and cooperative parties in the states. Once these changes are understood and governing systems are changed, we will move again rapidly.

Some of the greatest success of Indian industry happened when government did not know we were doing anything. So we need less government, not more.

Another Question>

Does India see Pakistan as more of a threat than China?

IMHO, Pakistan (with due respect) is insignificant as far as India is concerned, it's economy is 1/8th of India, military budget is also 1/7th of India, with India growing around 7-8% for atleast the next 15 years (with higher base) & Pakistan growing at just 4% (with lesser base), the difference between the two will only grow, so in 10-15 years Pakistan will be seen no where with respect to India & any discussion about Pakistan in India will only be there since it is our neighbor. Of late, Indian people & media (more of the media than people) have become wary of China b'coz of the tremendous progress it has achieved in last 2 decades & India along with China will be only two powers in Asia competing for influence. So i guess China is more of a threat for India than Pakistan.

Do you believe that would have been the common perception of Indians at that time?

Yes, at that time Congress represented most Indians especially Hindus. And Congress position was against partition.

OK answer this:

What's the price of Kashmir to Indians, is it really worth $billions of dollars and all that tension. Suppose Pakistani goverment paid India $200bln dollars, would you be prepared to give up Indian Kashmir?

And this is a theoretical question so no trolling please.

Kashmir is Part of Mother India.....Would you put a price on your Mother just asking...To answer your theoretical question ..No we dont sell our mother.

No. It is not about the money. We spend huge sums on Kashmir. It isn't for sale. I can explain clearly, but not on this thread.

In other words, do Hindus consider Muslim upper castes to be still upper caste or do they become lower caste because of convsion?

There is no upper cast and lower cast with Muslims. Muslims are Muslims to Hindus and other Minorities.

THo Muslims in my experience do discriminate on some occasion when it come to there trade. like barbers ,butchers etc and also there lineage,. they are very choosy with there marriages.
