There has to multi-party conference on Karachi where political parties should discuss the issue facing the city. There has to be give an take by all communities. Nobody should have monopoly in Karachi. The Karachi should get its fair share of resources from the revenue that it generates from provincial and federal government. There are 250,000 people migrating to Karachi every year from other parts of Pakistan and they have taken into account in developing infrastructure of the city.

i am waiting to see how many if punjab cities were equally as welcoming as karachi , they can share the burden .. no patriots here has ever cared explaining why dont they let pushtoons settle in Punjab cities .. why there arent no IDP camps in lahore , pindi or Islamabad.

The existing ‘katchi abadis’ in the capital city continue to pose a grave challenge to the concerned authorities that are yet to find out a viable solution to the trend that is denting the efforts to make Islamabad the beautiful.

According to unofficial data there are 28 ‘katchi abadis’ in Islamabad inhabited by more than 70,000 dwellers in worst living conditions. Under the Urban Shelter Programme the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has acknowledged only 10 ‘katchi abadis’ for provision of all the basic facilities because the national policy introduced by the government does not allow it to facilitate dwellers of those ‘katchi abadis’ set up after March 1985.
