another failure ?Army drops 20 Year old Nishant UAV programme ,Rustom-1 Project UAV too in limbo

All Members here, does any one think I am interested with this member here or quoted him or think he is some very intelligent, rational person in any way.

Who cares what you think? You got a problem then don't come here.

Who would sabotage ancient cr@p? There is indeed corruption and it is in DRDO who take all the money they can but deliver nothing.
Army already tried to sabotage arjuna project for t90 I don't want to go deep brother its my country army reputation at stake

Why don't you ask any western army expert on what they honestly think of that cr@p called Arjun. T-90 is a respected and good tank.

I think the concept of DRDO- one lab that can make everything from fighter jets to missiles to submarines is the problem. You need an 'agency' that funds these projects among private organizations that specialize in these tech. Instead of cancelling Nishant, Army should take the whole thing and hand it over to either HAL or Mahindra Aerospace type organization. You will find results in like 6 months flat.

How many years have you served in the Indian army?

DRDO needs to be banned.
Cut the salary of associated scientists and engineers whenever a project fails or delays.
They will come on track.
Currently, they are thinking that they are living in a "Babustan" where nobody needs to work.
Government should put them right before conditions get out of control.

What is the doctrine of the Indian army and what are they trying to achieve here by cancelling old projects. It displays a kind of lack of reliability when you walk out from old commitments.

You are ignoring failure on the DRDO part. 3 out of 4 systems crashed during recovery phase. There is no choice except cancelling the project.

While DRDO was hopeful of selling eight more aircraft and two more ground systems to the Army, with the cancellation of the order it will now have to write off at least Rs 5 cr of the development costs that it overspent. A blame game is on between the DRDO and the Army over the three crashes. In the past DRDO has blamed poor handling by the army for the loss of at least two systems. However, the army has contended that the system has failed to perform and has technical problems during the recovery phase that have not been sorted out. The latest crash of the system took place with a DRDO operator present and was clearly due to the failure of the parachute recovery system that resulted in the loss of the Rs 22 cr aircraft, people familiar with the matter said.

DRDO is not a manufacturing unit you moron and neither should it be.

Nishant has cleared ALL acceptance Trials. Any manufacturing problems is NOT DRDO's problem.

DRDO is not "hopeful of selling" anything. DRDO is not a Shopping Mall or Teleshopping network seeking to "sell " stuff.

They are a research organization dedicated to designing and building defence equipments. Their budget will continue even if the IA don't buy jack shit from them.

and that's going to fix the problem??? India needs better competition and competence in the private sector :agree:

you can't blame these failures on buying foreign.

you want your men and womans to have the best weapons to get the job done and keep them safe :enjoy:

ANY problems get fixed when people attempt to Fix the problem, not blame others.

IA attitude should certainly be blamed and condemned. Our people should indeed have the best weapon INDIA CAN BUILD.

How many years have you served in the Indian army?

DRDO needs to be banned.

It would be a lot better if a worthless scum like you ins banned from pdf. Don't bother to reply.

Good as Armed forces already operates hundreds of Isreali UAVs which outclass almost every UAVs in asia barring US supplied.

With the induction of Rustom 2 and armed UCAVs from Israel and possibly USA these low payload UAV don't make any sense.

The real concern here is that DRDO and users seem to not have a symbiotic relationship. We will not know sitting here where the problem is, but there is an issue here.

Issues at DRDO's end IMO

Public relations
Project management
Client servicing

Issues at Army and Airforce end

Lack of ownership
Corruption

Issues with the system

Lack of local competition
EVERYONE is corrupt

Conclusion - It is possible to improve things, but someone at the very top will have to take some very tough decisions and make some very powerful enemies. Look at the media last couple of months, when you disturb the gravy train, you do make some very powerful enemies.

The real issue is LACK OF OWNERSHIP.

IA REFUSES to take any responsibility or ownership of Indian products. Its a shameful behaviour.
