S-400 production is commenced for Turkey. It is even agreed to accelerate production since second battalion of S-400 which was option in deal, is also agreed to be activated as well.
In this aspect, US politically makes pressure over Turkey to purchase own equivalent since Trump is a trade oriented leader, so Turkish officials just seems eager to make US busy to shıt their mouths, since This year, first two F-35A will be delivered to TurAF.
In additions, Turkish industry develops own air/missile defence system called Hisar which is going to be operated by Land, Air and Naval Forces in same national network. The Serial production/deliveries of national SAM systems are going to be commenced in 2019-2020. They are going to be integrated on 6 Tf-2000 destroyers’ vertical launch tubes in additions to Istanbull class and TF-100 class frigates as well. In this conditions, Turkey selected S-400 missile system to fill the stop-gap long altitude SAm requirement because someatically developed long altitude missile system will be completed by 2022/23. No other long altitude missile defence system, If not an exo-athmospheric ballistic missile defence, is not inside of the shopping list of Undersecretariat of Turkish Industry.
