PAF participates in multinational Anatolian Eagle air exercise

KONYA: Pakistan Air Force (PAF) participated in the multinational Anatolian Eagle air exercise held at Konya, where air forces of seven other countries also took part.

Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (Operations) of Pakistan Air Force (PAF), Air Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan himself flew a F-16 plane at the event, which is being held form May 26 to June 10, 2016.

Hosted by the Turkish Air Force, air arms from seven countries including NATO, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Italy and the Netherlands were taking part in the Anatolian Eagle multinational exercise.

Pakistan is reportedly taking part in the auspicious air exercise for the sixth time with 6 F-16s and a crew of 90 personnel which also includes aircrew and technicians.

PAF Air Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan and Defence Attache of Pakistan in Turkey Air Commodore Abbas Ghumman participated in the Distinguished Visitors Day on 7 June 2016 in Konya.

Earlier, Pakistani ambassador Sohail Mahmood had visited the exercise area and met with the Pakistani Air Force personnel who were taking part in the competition. He also met with the Base Commander of the Turkish Air Force in Konya.

The event is held on an annual basis and serves to strengthen ties between Pakistan and Turkey. Air arms of mostly NATO countries and Asian countries participate in the exercise. This time, the event was witnessed by Turkish Air Force Chief, Royal Saudi Air Chief as well as senior officials from Italy, Netherlands and Azerbaijan.
