What's new

An old Heart Patient Lady treated on Jinnah Hospital's floor and died.

I hope next phase we can certainly standardized the hospitals in country instead of big , small or medium unstandardized servcie have a proper plan to Universalized , services across all general hospitals , walk in Clinics and Emergency Hospitals

Without doubt it was a very sad news reported today on news outlets

I felt great amount of unease at the suffering of that lady's death in such circumstances

OMG How delusional people can get..... use metro to reach a non-existent hospital or with inadequate and useless facilities :o::undecided::crazy:
...you are implying the Dr operated her on the floor because they hated her? Have you ever been to govt hospital in Pakistan before you typed the comment? The simple fact is there are not enough beds for patients in govt hospitals, because the goon-patwaris have opted to ...I mean how satisfying and convenient for a doctor is to operate a patient on the floor while an modern operation theatre was available...is that what you believe as your comment implies. So get your heads out of the sand face the reality.. And if you can come up with something positive then comment otherwise don't bother to quote my post just for the sake of killing the time...
You can't teach a Patwari the basics and what are the priority/necessary things.............

.
You have a US flag so you live here, so how do you get to a hospital? Through various roads and highways right?
yes I am living in USA now but most of my family and relatives are in Pakistan and I often visit Pakistan and I see their problems, I have to hospitals to visit my ailing relatives admitted into hospitals.

Yup that's gone case ...not gonna happen. They can continue to regale us with their idiocy and imbecility.

You didn't answer my question. The question was, how do you get to a hospital in the US? Do you hire a Mule or a Camel and go through some desert for a few days before you get to a hospital? Or do you dial 911, an Ambulance is at your door in less than 4 minutes and they take you to the nearest hospital, connected already through a network of roads?

In other words, no roads, no taking you agriculture products to a bigger city for more money (for poor farmers), no disadvantage older towns / village population can get to better schools, very difficult for people to do business in bigger cities, and certainly very difficult to get to a hospital in time. Its the same in Pakistan no exceptions. You can't foolishly link roads and infrastructure with a hospital's bad practices of not treating patients. Did you graduate from the US? I'd love to find out your level of education.

I don't answer silly questions...don't you know about it? But come to the point ...don't beat around the bushes.

To be honest such issue can be resolved by city and neighbourhoods themselves
If you really think about how many portable beds are thrown away by people yearly in city

If there was a culture of volunteering in Local Hospital & Donation of usable items like chairs / beds (portable) etc the service quality would improve by a margin

The problem with patients vs beds and Hospital quality is a serious problem in Pakistan
Can only be tackled agressively on emergency basis

It is certainly troublesome to hear stories of two patients on same bed , shows you a dire need of more hospital calibre beds.

Strangely our steels mill is none functional else we would have given them a big order to make steel frames for beds

If one really thinks about it
> We grow cotton , can be used to make make shift beds
> We also have a steeles mill making steel goods yet we can't use to to make beds for hospitals

Not govt job to run hospitals...even NHS in UK sucks...health care needs to be privatized...government should focus on creating economic opportunities so people can afford to pay for education and health care rather than depend on charity from government...if American and British governments cannot successfully run hospitals and schools...how is that even expected from third world countries like Pakistan?? time to get off from self entitlement addiction and smell the reality! We have a problem with our culture...and out of control breeding like wild animals...it has nothing to do with metro and power stations..basic economic equation that it cost money to run hospitals and money is generated by taxes..you need good economy for good taxes...and obviously the first priority is economic base of the country...we are all by product of our culture..good culture will produce good human beings..

Funny that people are comparing metro with hospital..you always need modes of transport to get to the best hospitals..the lapse here is poverty...had she not been poor she would have afforded herself decent health care. Ever wonder why Pakistani economy sucks?? It is due to poor connectivity..it cost 1 to 1.5 Lac for transporting a container from Punjab to Karachi for shipping by sea to Middle East. This adds up cost and in total it means Pakistani goods are non-competitive against Chinese or Indians...despite having a lower cost of manufacture and lower cost of sea transit between Karachi and Dammam...

What we as a nation needs is population control because poor people reproduce poor kids...and when a poor couple has four kids..there poverty multiplied by four...we need reduced population..increased awareness about quality of life..and above all..means to develop a decent economy..basic infrastructure like electricity, transport, seaports, airports is what runs the economy...taxes earned by economy are used to provide basic facilities...if all income is spend on non-profit projects we will end up in socialist style collapse like Venezula...the economic sense of our nation is pathetic..they would tear down crucial infrastructure to build free health care for what gives is basically free resources to poverty stricken people for mass uncontrolled reproduction...When it comes to dealing with poverty there is always a redline which must be drawn with regards to population control...

They forget that a better transport is needed for reaching the best health care and job opportunities anyways...
I agree with population control but who needs to enforce it? Did Chinese people realize on their own about the child control policy? For an economy to propser, you also need healthy humans. Keep building the infrastructure to transport people/containers but don't invest on humans' basic needs i.e Health, Education. Let's see where your economy goes.

Last major hospital in Lahore was built in 1988. Yes that is true. It is the same hospital, Jinnah hospital. Population has increased many times but no new hospital has been built to cater the growing demand. Instead PMLN have stopped funds to projects started in PMLQ's government regarding capacity building in old hospitals.

No one is asking a first class treatment from Government but can't they provide a bed? What you are suggesting is all money should be spent either on metro or a hospital. However common sense suggests that there should be a fvcking split.

This is what happens when thugs only care about getting votes and not the people misplaced priorities one can only imagine if this is the situation of Jinnah hospital than just imagine about rest of the Punjab. *shudders*

Health sector surely needs improvement.

Metro helps health sector in one or other way.
Metro means less traffic.
less traffic = less Pollution, less accidents = less patients
Less traffic or metro helps patient reach hospital in shorter time.
Less traffic = low import of fuel, low import of vehicles
