Amir Timur and Afghans

.
At the time of Timur invasion, the prime minister of Sultan Nasir- ud- din Tughlaq was Mallu (Malik) Iqbal Khan Lodhi, an Afghan. His older brother, Sarang Khan was governor of Multan and Diaplpur. Large number of Afghans were serving in the army and nobility of Tughlaq empire. On the other side, tribal chiefs of Sarwanis, Niazis, Jalwanis and Lodis were also supporting Emir Timur. So Afghans fought on both side.
Khizr Khan Sayyid, defeated Mallu Iqbal Khan in 1406 AD with the help of an Afghan under his own wing, Bahlul Lodhi. In 1412, Daulat Khan Lodhi , the general of Tughlaqs established himself the ruler of Delhi but was soon dispossessed by Khizr Khan. Sayyids relied heavily on Afghans so at the end they were unable to stop the Afghans from taking throne.

Didn't Timur not already died in 1405 AD?
