The American Consulate in Peshawar is under attack.

3 Huge car explosions rocked the place and attacking gunmen have been surrounded and gunfire exchange is being taking place with security forces.

This is bad news.

Pakistan-U.S. relations were just improving.

Those who are behind this want to destroy U.S. relations with Pakistan more than anything.

This is a deliberate attempt to derail the US-Pakistan relation that have been getting better to attack the consulate in such a way.

The police and military need to hunt these dogs and their handlers down and do what was done to that dog Mohammed Najibullah who was responsible for attacks on Pakistan in the 80's

Multiple blasts take place outside US Consulate

PESHAWAR: A series of powerful explosions and gunfire rocked Pakistan's northwestern capital Peshawar on Monday as heavy grey smoke spewed into the sky, witnesses and a security official said.

The causes of the blasts were not immediately clear, said the security official and local residents.

Television footage showed a heavy mushroom cloud and smoke rising into the air over the garrison part of the city, close to the US consulate and the Peshawar headquarters of Pakistan's top spy agency in the Saddar area, bombed last November.

Bursts of heavy gunfire could also be heard. According to DawnNews, police and army have resorted to firing and the Khyber Road area has been blocked.

Several buildings collapsed due to the intensity of the blasts. Officials said that many casualties were feared and the injured had been rushed to the hospital.

Nothing reported yet. That specific place under attack dont have many civilians their. but army personal are always present on that checkpost. Some injured shifted to CMH and LRH hospital.

It occurred in the vicinity of American consulate where the smoke can be seen from far places. According to my cousin there are continued fire exchanges taking place in that area.

PESHAWAR: A series of powerful explosions and gunfire rocked Peshawar area of Saddar on Monday as heavy grey smoke spewed into the sky, witnesses and a security official said.

The causes of the blasts were not immediately clear, said the security official and local residents.

Television footage showed a heavy mushroom cloud and smoke rising into the air over the garrison part of the city, close to the US consulate and the Peshawar headquarters of Pakistan's top spy agency, bombed last November.

Bursts of heavy gunfire could also be heard.

The injured are being rescued to safer places. The Khyber Road, where the US Consulate is situated, has been closed.

The cameras of news channels were live covering the incident with security personnel on their positions, when two consecutive blasts occurred.

The series of these three blasts occurred within 20 minutes.
