AMCA : Together with Israel & France ?

i think we should also consider Brazil or South Africa as our partner because we need someone to pour some money apart from us....

True, these countries would be more realistic than Israel and France.

.
^^^
Not just these countries. What i am saying is we need trusted friends which can help us both technologically (France and Israel) and monetarily (Brazil and France or Germany).

I also pointed out these countries because they can hide tech from US because we don't wanna upset Russia by partnering with a country which might result in transfer of some Russian tech to US because everybody knows that we will be using some Russian tech in AMCA. Other option can be we can again partner-up with Russia. Russians already have a 5th gen project in light segment, what they have to do is share tech with us and i highly doubt their will be more expense....

.
As far as i feel... UCAV is not the complete solution for future Battle space management.. UCAV can hugely contribute on deep penetration ... but still A2A combat will be effective with manned space... because human mind can think in several aspect and react than a pre coded artificial intelligent ones... france will eventually develope a 5th generation fighter at very less cost because UCAV would have given them all the needed things

.
Well I dont think there would be any need for that, India is building a whole new facility for Fifth Generation Fighter Aircraft's, India has Expertise in building one of the leading 4+ gen aircraft the Su 30 MKI's and a 4th gen LCA Tejas, Besides that... India is Involved In FGFA program with Russia and a Full TOT from MMRCA.... I dont think we would gain anything better by going for a JV, but better if its to save the development cost, but India is not bothered about cost anyways...

.
Its NOT the Cost but the TIME Which is Important.
With a JV we can drastically reduce the Time Factor.

.
Just a recap.
Israel may have her hands tied to work upon a JV with India thanks to Sher Khan. However, some later inputs like in making of vanilla su-30 to MKI may be indispensable for India.
France has only "recently" fielded the Rafael (still looking for a customer in international market). So a serious conflict of interest.
US - They won't give us access to tech because of the Agreements that are not agreeable to India.

Apart from Russia; that leaves us with our the eastern powers a.k.a Japan, Australia and South Korea.
Australia is too scared of going into the bad books of PRC; so Japan and South Korea are viable JV partners.
Both have huge experience in high tempo manufacturing and Japanese have lots for us to learn. The market could be Vietnam, Philippines and other important nations as a counter to the string of pearls - So, US may also look at the project kindly thanks to its nuisance value to PRC.
Besides we can finance it with the help of South Africa as well as Brazil.

.
As far as i know... we are going to develop AMCA from the inputs that gained from PAK-FA and FGFA with solid partneship from russia...... , and i dont think we will go for joint venture with any other country apart from russia especially for 5th gen

There were reports sometime in may about Russia helping India build a lightweight stealth fighter (below). It could be an AMCA or an advanced version of LCA. What is interesting to note is that the LCA is a 3rd generation aircraft. It's not supposed to be an all advanced frontline strike aircraft. Wonder what role the Light Stealth Aircraft will fulfil.

RUSSIA WILL DEVELOP A FIFTH GENERATION FIGHTER AIRCRAFT FOR THE INDIAN AIR FORCE

The Russian Federation will participate in the development of lightweight fifth generation fighter aircraft specifically for the Air Force of India, said on Monday the Indian defense web portal Brahmand Defence and Aerospace News.

"During the talks held during the visit of an Indian military delegation to Moscow led by the commander of the Air Force Pradeep Vasant Naik, the Russian side confirmed its readiness to share with the Indians to develop a new lightweight fifth-generation fighter, which will meet the specific requirements of the Indian Air Force" - the report says Internet portal.

According to the newspaper, which refers to sources in the Indian delegation, a new light fighter will be developed on a platform other than severe joint platform, which currently creates a promising multipurpose fighter of the fifth generation in India has received the designation FGFA.

The newspaper reminds that in December 2010, "Rosoboronexport" company HAL (Hindustan Aeronautics Limited) and the company "Dry" have signed a contract to develop a sketch and technical project FGFA. This - the first of a series of documents governing the obligations of the parties at various stages of implementation. Fifth-generation fighter will be developed on basis of a commander in chief of the Indian Air Force PAK FA, which successfully conducted tests of the company "Dry". Two prototypes have already carried out 60 operations, "Interfax".

That report was indeed talking about FGFA.

Any ways they are eveluating private industry for the AMCA. Here is a brief abstract of the AMCA program.

One of the most dramatic aspects of India's concept fifth generation Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) will be its cockpit and man-machine interface. For starters, unlike the cluttered, resoundingly less-than-fourth-generation cockpit of the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA Tejas), the AMCA cockpit could have a panoramic active-matrix display. Next, switches, bezels and keypads could be replaced with touch screen interfaces and voice commands. Finally, what the team wants is for the AMCA pilot to have a helmet-mounted display system that allows the jettisoning of a HUD from the AMCA cockpit altogether.

AMCA documents that provide the first detailed view

The AMCA team has already asked private industry in the country to explore the feasibility of creating primary panoramic displays and other avionics displays that would befit a fifth generation cockpit environment. But the cockpit is just one of an ambitious official technology wishlist for the AMCA.

Unlike the Tejas, which features an avionics systems architecture based on functionality-based individual computer systems connected on MIL-STD-1553B buses and RS 422 links, the AMCA's avionics systems architecture will feature a central computational system connected internally and externally on an optic fiber channel by means of multiport connectivity switching modules. In such a system, functionality will be mapped on resourcred optimally and reallocated when faults occur. At least, that's the idea. Data communications on the AMCA's processing modules will be through a high-speed fiber channel bus, IEEE-1394B-STD. The connectivities will be switched by means of a multiport switching matrix, with data speeds of 400MB/second.

Here is a nice little slide illustrating the AMCA's envisaged operational envelope (subject of course to change).

Israel has recently formed a JV with Russian space agency to develop future satellites, so highly doubt we will face problem with them especially when they are rethinking about f35.

If it was ever true , we would have been hearing fund allocations and further discussions based on that. An official cant just go and make a deal for a new fighter as he likes. Its usually announced and would be reported accordingly in defence blogs.

so its false.

India; IAF mulls "Light Stealth Jet"
Sunday, 12 June 2011 09:00 |
News - Asia

The Indian Air Force (IAF) wants to include a light fighter in a three-tier stealth fleet.
In addition to the Russian-Indian Fifth-Generation Fighter Aircraft, based on the T-50 PAK-FA stealth fighter, and the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA), India is also interested in a light stealth fighter.

Indian sources confirm that the IAF is interested in such an aircraft, and analysts said the IAF probably envisions a jet similar in size and weight to the troubled indigenous Light Combat Aircraft (LCA), also known as the Tejas.

We may be 'interested" but that reprt of work started is false. Work has started only in FGFA.

No deal whatsoever was signed in secrecy As far as i know.
