What's new

AMCA to be developed in 12-15 years .

Indeed i agree with you.. Snecma is not providing any more help and we have are still looking for new partner. And as far as i have read it was mentioned in the report without any credible partner developing engine would take more than 20 years.:laughcry:

If Snecma cooperate with GTRE then how much powerful engine they can make. Mirage-2000 engine's thrust is 95kn with afterburner. How can they cooperate to make super powerful engine when they themselves unable to make.

@Parul Please change your avatar. I can't get Kashmiri chai in Nagpur.

If the official target date is 2028, the realistic date is probably after 2040, knowing the track record of India.......
Come On Now. 25+ years for Tejas is more to do with Technology ban on India too. So when India can get its hands on Super Sukoi,Rafale and PakFa for sure Indians can make best fighter like AMCA. Indian PSUs just need a strong political leadership and Anti Corruption laws. DRDO and HAL can do better

Then why call is "Advanced MEDIUM combat aircraft...? Seriously laughable...

This part is also interesting:

will be a priority stealth strike platform for operations behind enemy air defences

AMCA is meant to be a multi role fighter, that part on the other side would hint more to AURA UCAV, so did they mixed up some things?

Another day another DRDO chief but the same problem.

Big promise, cheap talk, less result. Daily comedy of our DRDO.

Keeping DRTROLL’s track record in mind, I bet if its planned induction is 2028, you’ll never hear from it again until 2040, when they will proudly announce that they decide to go for AMCA Mark II instead. :omghaha: hey, at least it’s consistent with ALL other weapons it’s been daydreaming.

 Wasn’t this Sarawat the ex-chief of DRTROLL? Only for several months the new chief xxx Chander has already daydreamed as far as he could go. By the end his term, will he write a book of Day Dreaming with DRTROLL Mark II? Yes, he will.

Seriously, has DRTROLL finished 1 project, just 1, from a to z entirely on its own, ever, in its entire history?

The only finished “project” seems to be this:

What a day dreaming they’re riding. We will NEVER see LCA induction in a serious manner, ever, after 40 years and still counting, even with French original design and importing almost all avionics, radar, weapons, engines, composite materials…you name it, anything being there for them to just assemble.... 40 friggin years not even ready for a 3rd gen.

Now they brag that they’ll ready a 5th gen in 12 years, more powerful than “ FGFA”, which will be another urban myth. :cheesy:

5 bucks that average IQ of DRTROLL is < 90.

While the DRDO puts its full weight behind priority delivery of the LCA Tejas to the Indian Air Force (IAF), its new Chief Dr Avinash Chander has made an ambitious claim: that the stealth fifth generation advanced medium combat aircraft (AMCA) will be delivered in 12-15 years. The AMCA, while not a formally sanctioned project yet, is still on the drawing board in the conceptual phase, and will receive formal funding only once deliveries begin of the FOC LCA Tejas Mk.1.

The DRDO is currently working on several enabling technologies, including stealth, vectored thrust nozzles, serpentine air intakes, internal weapons bays, advanced avionics, etc to form the foundations of the advanced aircraft. The aircraft will be larger and more powerful than the Indo-Russian PMF/FGFA, and will be a priority stealth strike platform for operations behind enemy air defences.Current research and development on the project is being funded through internal resources, and work will pick up in earnest from late 2014 when the burden of the LCA Tejas is off the DRDO’s shoulders. A degree of foreign consultancy will be inevitable on the AMCA, sources indicate.

So 2028 Officially and 2030- 2032 Un-official Many of of Dpk Users wont be there to see this :pdf::smokin:

It cannot be. AMCA will be medium weight fighter, and after having FGFA the second heavy fighter doesn't make sense.(nor do we have capability to go directly to 5th gen heavy fighter from a 4+ gen light fighter)

Design still not finalised

Am happy if we can get 200 PakFa 40 N-Pakfa , 200 Tejas MK 2 ,180 Rafale , with 250 Su30 MKI upgraded to Super Sukoi itself. AMCA is just a Force Multiplier for Indian AF and IN

Another pipe dream in the making? Probably would be a better idea to rack up a JV with another country looking for a 5th gen fighter...S.Korea? Brazil? Israel (probably cheaper than the F-35I)? France?

my wet dream will end in a crispy cracker in my innerwear by the time this another failed project by our incompetent defence agencies churn out. guys ure late by 20 years. We're so frikkin backward in aeronautics :( minus the astronomy.
