What's new

AMCA (Fifth generation FIghter plane)Primary design ready. 5000 cr fund shall be sought for developm

it should be our endeavour to first develop a reliable engine for this aircraft. this is what that matters the most. it is a matter of great shame for us that kaveri engine developed for LCA failed to perform.

Engine is the most difficult component to design. India should first nail down on the first engine to use and design around it. It's no shame to build a domestic plane around a foreign engine.

If India follow your suggestion, than India should shelve this project completely until the engine is almost ready as there is no tellin when such an engine will be ready.

Apparently current 5th gen fighter designs look similiar to each other. Here's Turkey's $50 billion FGFA program. Prototype flight planned at 2023. The total spending will be $120 billion with the orders of 250 aircraft.

No, Indian 5th Gen is different from this, the models displayed at various airshows are purely random in nature, without going through scientific research and data.

This is the 1st model which was studied at National Aerospace Laboratories

This is the 2nd model which was studied at National Aerospace Laboratories

I firmly believe india will develope successfully both the Tekas mark 2 & the AMCA.

Reasin is they now have have the infrastructure wind tunnels labs and technicians to develope this thanks to the 30 year tejas project

Yep - AMCA will only need a foreign engine at first, with an indigenous engine coming along later.

I liked the YF-23 diamond wings they showed in one design. Seems that's not going to be in the final design. :cray:

@Neptune said the fifth generation concepts across the world look similar to each other........................SIMILAR,not identical. So yeah,he's not wrong in his observation.

It's still a while before the design is finalized. The designer might revisit the black widow wing again.

Hope this new plan can carry out.
The first step should be research on materials but not model designing or engine designing.
Skyscraper need build from foundation.

From the design of YF23, It seems that a longer fuselage and some what small wing design is a favorite in new generation plane design. We can witness tha same in AMCA last design also. Am I guising right?

We are building 60% of LRUS of Tejas and they are increasing. In HAL, A very high strength composite is developed, That will help us reducing the weight further and makeing palne more rogude. We have learned a lot from Tejas' design and building. Our main hurdle in poor Project management and burocratic Hurdle. It seems that we have done a good progress inthese 2 areas too.

Yes, Engine still remains a vulnerable area on which we will have to work hard in design and mattlurgy front. If we are able overcome this last hurdle, we shall be self sufficient in complete spectrum of building blocks of a modern aircraft.

Fuselage usually looks fat looking to hide the weapons. AMCA fuselage does look really long. J-20 also look very long as well.

So can it be opposite to Tejas where we design big wings to compensate small fuselage to give plane a sufficient area?

I guise that this long fuselage small wing designs are more agile. You can shed some light on this if you have any idea.

Im not a expert. Someone like @gambit is a more appropriate member.

Looks good .& has turkey independently build any 4th gen fighter

A rare sensible post from you :enjoy:

Indeed we will not make the same mistake twice engine will be Foreign at 1st but later on we will replace it with ours

A long and hard struggle ahead.

Good luck!

Thx man
