Alien Earths: why life on other worlds would be far weirder than us

What if we humans actually are decedents of some intelligent species who colonized the earth thousands of years ago?
Or maybe we are a genetically engineered species, a hybrid of earth's primates and our alien ancestors, so that we can survive in earth's environment?
Human species is very different from all other species in this planet, why other species didn't evolve the way we did? We are yet to find that missing link!!
In all our religion, mythology, old scriptures, cave paintings, etc. Gods are coming down from the sky to teach us, who are the Gods?
And when we become capable of physically exploring other planets in far off places in the universe, what we might do if we find a habitable planet? Will we act like Gods?
