I was looking at the numbers on where the most ISIS recruits come from. Apparently so far only 50-100 people have left each from India/Pakistan. From Europe thousands, from USA hundreds. No one know exactly how many. They have been quietly leaving and going to Syria via Turkey for the past many years. It's that the ISIS has just come to light, but they were in the making for a long time. Rest assured, given heightened intelligence and anti-terror ops in Pakistan most if not all of those heading towards Egypt/Syria/Iraq/Jordan would be stopped from Pakistan. Plus these local jihadis already have Afghanistan as the next battle ground.

Pakistan's security apparatus has more experience in this and hence are better geared to meet the challenges. ISIS and it's radicalization process is something new in India. Otherwise normal college students are queing to head to Iraq, overnight, out of the blue! Apparently we thought, this would not affect India much!

Poverty and lack of opportunities for youth is equal on both sides. That's what gets most of them radicalized.

This is most likely a myth. The Tibetan refugees in India had been dirt poor a couple of decades back. We did not see them becoming terrorists. On the other hand young kids from well to do families, doctors, engineers etc are moving to Iraq to fight for 'the just cause'. The leadership of AQ for example can beat many Boards of Directors in their academic/professional qualifications.
Just last week an Indian kid of 23 was 'martyred'. He was just a college student in India, studying in Engineering, with the prospect of a bright future. He sacrificed that all and went to fight in Sham.

That is true. More so in case of jihadis coming from UK/France/Norway/USA/Germany etc. By lack of opportunities i meant, constructive activities where they can put their mind to good use. Radicalization happens when you are frustrated at some sort, want the easy way out and even worse, you hang out with people who you consider your dear friends, but in reality are your worst enemies.
