High Alpha: With air brakes applied, this PAF F-16 is about to enter into a muscle climb during the Airshow over Sea View, Karachi yesterday.

I have my office near the beach (7th Floor with picture windows) and i could see the whole show and the practice sessions leading up to the show.

In the practice sessions, the end of JF17 aerobatics was a high muscle climb with flares ejecting and disappearing into the clouds routine.

On the day when the president was there, JF did the whole routine but when it was trying to turn and go for the final routine, there was long jet of flame that came out of the engine nozzle and it did not climb and continued on towards Masroor airbase.

I have seen three practice sessions, 2 Actual display sessions and in only one of the sessions i saw the flame shoot from the back of the plane... and i know it was not the afterburner because it was too yellowish instead of the more blueish flame.

Anyone with an explanation?

BTW I have seen Blue Angels perform, the Red Arrows, Sherdils, and USAF Eagles perform.... all of them live!

For me its just GOLD.

Its like...when I was a kid, my dream Fighter Jet was the F-16. Today, nearly 40...and my dream Fighter Jet is still the F-16.

Heck, my favorite character from a mid-80's cartoon was an F-16 called 'Heat Seeker' .
