A model of the China-made C919 large aircraft was displayed at the Eighth China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, (also commonly known as the 2010 Zhuhai Air Show), in Zhuhai, South China's Guangdong Province on Nov .15, 2010.The model, which contained the cockpit and the front part of the passenger cabin, showed the true prototype of an actual full-scale C919 plane, with a length of 17 meters, a height of 5.6 meters and a width of 3.96 meters. Wu Guanghui, chief designer of the C919 air bus, said the aircraft has advantages mainly in four aspects. The plane uses inert gas to ensure more secure fuel. It has increased room for passenger seats to improve comfort ability. It utilizes a new generation of air engine for more economic and efficient flight to reduce costs by 10 percent. It is eco-friendly, reducing emissions by 50 percent.The basic layout of the C919 consists of 168 economy classes and 156 mixed classes. It has a designed standard flight range of 4,075 kilometers and an enhanced flight range of 5,555 kilometers to meet various operational requirements of different flight routes for airline companies.
