Air Force aims higher - Seeks major purchases by 2021

Depending upon the avionics, an F-22 costs somewhere between US$250 to $350 million. Only countries like usa or japan can afford it. We can build 20 medium/small factories with this kind of money where at least 5,000 people will find jobs. Investment in economy will make real difference in the long run. Thank you for this small joke.

u took the F22 issue seriously man??:rolleyes:. Dude they WILL NOT sell F22 even if u offer $1 Billion a piece, let me repeat WILL NOT SELL!!. Even the Japs are not sure wether they get it or not. It was a joke and u seriously took it to whole new level.:haha:

Anyways, BD should look for Migs or Sukhois bcoz they are prooven fighters and thatz just my humble suggestion.

.
Oh u mean Tejas:rofl:. Is it good than JF-17? Don't make this childish comment and we know which one is good and which is not. Beside that I don't think BAL Govt. wanna loose their neck by purchasing these junk:devil:

We don't have any policy to engage with India:bunny: what do you mean by both countries? India and China will have US-Canada like relation:woot:No they will have US-Russia relation:D

What Bangladeshi perspective:angry:Only the flatter of india in Bangladesh will think to milk the indian cow. India is the Fox:agree:. What type of relation u wanna built with us? Your drunk BSF kills our innocent people while your DG visit Bangladesh. Your BSF illegally enters our territory and kills our innocent people and your Govt. do nothing! You entered in our sea illegally and tried to explore. You claimed talpotti while it is in our sea.You want to make our country a desert by Farakka dam. Your ambassador make fun of us so we should be best friend?

Then at first you start that good behave.

That was awesome buddy...couldnt agree more...

Bangladesh air force eyes upgrades and new aircraft

Bangladesh's air force is embarking on a major modernisation drive. The service hopes to upgrade some of its fighters and helicopters in the near term and new trainers and light attack aircraft over the longer term in the plan. The air force prepared an internal report on the issue in June and submitted it to parliament for approval, say Bangladeshi news reports. The service is seeking an annual 10% increase in its budget over the next 10 years to achieve this, they add.

ASIAN DEFENCE: August 2009

Air force officials decline to comment, but industry sources say the service has been keen to upgrade its capabilities after several years of neglect. Around 70% of the air force's aircraft have been in service for more than 20 years, while only 18% were inducted in the last 10 years, says the report. "The air force is proceeding with the dream to build a digital air force," the service is quoted as saying in the report. This will help it to "prepare, operate and maintain an air force capable of projecting air power in order to uphold and promote our national interest".

Initially, it plans to set up facilities to upgrade its Chengdu F-7 fighters and various Russian-made helicopters. By 2021, it hopes to begin replacing the older aircraft, says the report. These include its Nanchang A-5, Shenyang FT-6 and F-7 fighters. It also hopes to introduce airborne early warning capability into the air force. Budget allocations for the air force have been falling, according to the reports. While the service received 20.9% of the total defence budget in the 2005-6 financial year, this went down to 15.11% in 2008-9, they add. Most of the budgetary allocation is spent on maintenance, salaries, supplies and instalments for past purchases. As a result, only 4-6% is allocated for new purchases. Industry sources say that Chinese and Russian government officials have been in Bangladesh in the past few years offering new aircraft and credit facilities.

Bangladesh will not procure any military hardware from India. I can assure you that.

Errr... where were the assurance when India doanted two naval vessels free of cost and BD accepted it happily?

GB

.
Its not about what BD buys and intend to use against whom?

The main question is how they plan to maintain the new hardware? The question comes in my mind after their history with the MiG-29 maintainance.

India or Burma, it does not matter. BD has to defend its airspace from being violated. If 160 planes cannot do it, then we should purchase more and more surface to air missile systems. SAM system is cheaper and can be equally or more effective in defending our airspace.

Any idea from where the money will come to buy all this?

By the way, can India mobilize all its aircrafts against BD simultaneously when most of its fixed assets, like military airports, hangers, maintenance workshops, spare parts warehouses etc, are in the western front?

and who told you that?

Unless India builds similar installations in the east, which is time consuming, India cannot mobilize all its 1000+ fighter planes suddenly in that front.

You have no idea mate you have no idea.

IAF is upgrading each and every AFB in the east to face PLAF if need arises.

For what India needs 1000 aircrafts to mobilize? to fight BAF? Don't think so?

By mobilizing 1000 aircrafts in east leave the airbases across India empty?

Whatever you were thinking.

Don't you worry, we will build maintenance workshops. But, even now when we send abroad some of our planes for maintenance, still we do not have plane accidents every other day as it is with Indian airforce. IAF has a world record for plane accidents, not to be broken by any other country in the present century or the next.

Our per capita foreign exchange earning is no less than India, so we can easily afford all those modern flying kites and SAM missiles.

You don't need to know about the money, we can even have money from any arab country:D

You have no idea mate you have no idea.
You also have no Idea what we r going to procure:lol:

You need more than that cuz ur toys have crush record:lol:, how will u fight if u crash in sky??

Chisty ,india needs more people like you in bd military, but sadly there aint any........they have a longer vision than you mate,it feels amazing how you boast your maintanence of 8 mig29s with not many upgraes......its amazing how you rant against a neighbour which has the best flanker on the planet, upgraded mig29s(with more upgrades due),mirages with 126 mrca's,pakfa and also a indeginous lca in near future!!!......mate,no taking away from your spirit but give it a saner thought, and also consider the flying hours of the aircrafts in service......consider the immediate future plans, heaviness of pocket and diplomatic influnce......best regards, jako

BAF can choose from JF-17, MiG 29, J-10 and LCA.

MiG-29 is a good choice because they already have a sqdrn but it is a very expensive choice.

J-10 will be great too but it will also be another expensive choice.

LCA serious doubts about technology - not a good choice at all.

JF-17 can proove to be an ideal choice. If JF-17 is choosen then, BAF should sale the 16 MiG 29 and use the money to get JF-17 sqdrns.

Spares and maintenance will be a non issue and BAF will have good quantity of a good quality fighter. :enjoy:

Chisty ,india needs more people like you in bd military, but sadly there aint any........
Thanx for asking, but there are too more capable personel in BD Military.
they have a longer vision than you mate,it feels amazing how you boast your maintanence of 8 mig29s with not many upgraes......

Err... 16 MiG-29s; what do you know about our upgraes?why dont u suggest some upgrades?:undecided:

its amazing how you rant against a neighbour which has the best flanker on the planet,

You are wrong:tdown: but thanx. We don't wanna compete with any country. We are doing what is needed to be done and don't be so optimistic about your Flanker:whistle: Its not only depend on Flanker also who are flying it and how skillfull s/he is:agree: and we could also aquire Flanker if that much is needed.

upgraded mig29s(with more upgrades due),mirages with 126 mrca's,pakfa and also a indeginous lca in near future!!!......

Upgraded MiG-29s does not ensure all assurences, you better also make insurences of all MiG-29s.

mate,no taking away from your spirit but give it a saner thought, and also consider the flying hours of the aircrafts in service......consider the immediate future plans

Mate;thanx for your concern. We have good flying hours. Immediate future plan is to purchase some SAM will be best.

heaviness of pocket and diplomatic influnce......best regards, jako
Pocket is good, and we have good Influence with USA, China and ARAB nation......best regards, Chisty:yahoo:

No chance for LCA and also include Su-XX as this Govt. is Russian friendly.

MiG-29 is a good choice because they already have a sqdrn but it is a very expensive choice.

No; not MiG-29s, but Su-XX is expensive to us.
J-10 will be great too but it will also be another expensive choice.
Soon or later we are going for J-10X and is not that expensive:tup:

JF-17 can proove to be an ideal choice.
Yea, but not possible in this Govt period. Govt. may go for FC-1.
If JF-17 is choosen then, BAF should sale the 16 MiG 29 and use the money to get JF-17 sqdrns.

:rofl:Well said Bro. If we choose Jf-17 we will sell nothing but MiG-21:devil:
I respect your comments but don't talk to sell our MiG-29s even we purchase F-22:lol::lol: Thanx.
