Aid conditional to AQ Khan access - US Bill

He will most probably died if the bill passes due to so called "natural death" by hands of "elements" in that case.

will NEVER happen, our Indian friends jump with joy when they hear that some lightwight lawmakers propose such things,as much as you hate the fact, the US will never go down that road, they need us,more than we need them,it;s the other way round in India's case.

The way US treated Oppenheimer and his wife shows how it really is. We rather have our hero's as they should be treated...

Just another Lamb Excuse same like Pressler's amendments to deny Pakistan from acquiring F-16s and all the other Promised Military Aid.

I knew it USA will soon come up with something like this.

This is not new for Pakistan, we survived during the 90's and we will survive again insha-Allah.

Indians should worry about the call centre closures due to economic down fall in the US.

Spare us the BS conspiracy theories and keep it your self. Do you think getting your hands on AQ is so easy and that too just because some US senator says so.:disagree:

Indeed, this is yet another BS story, however, I still have my doubts about our government, I mean, when will we see a big and strong statement coming from our President or a Pakistani official saying out and loud: NO we will NOT give you acces to A.Q. Khan and don't EVEN think about it.

Why are our politicians so afraid?

actually i think handing over aq khan would be a good start.

pakistan shouldnt even have nuclear weapons they are bad for you.

pakistan is a weak divided very badly governed country.

dont be so paranoid about the outside world. the outside world can help you evolve, which you need to do to avoid going extinct.

Oh please..keep your ideas to yourself.Pakistan needs nuclear weapons to survive or we will be divided again like 1971.You certainly don't know how badly governed this country it.This is the same country which broke the backs of Soviet Union.

Obviously, it's never going to happen. It will cause a huge stir in Pakistan. AQ is still a very respectable hero figure in Pakistan. It's as simple as that. The nukes are here to stay. These weapons are Pakistan's main artery. Pakistan has a very good ally in China and should build that relationship on all fronts including trade.

A rough guess::::::
AQ will be used to promote anti americanism in the reagion and that will be the last option if things went bad btw Pakistan and Usa LIKE F-16S AND AID STOPS COMIN HERE..

ITS A SUCIDE BUTTON SPECIFICALLY PLACED FOR THE AMERICANS IF THEY DONT WANT US TO BE THEIR PARTNER THEY CAN PRESS THE BUTTON .

CHANCES ARE GOOD THAT THEY MIGHT PRESS THE BUTTON COZ SOONER OR LATER THEY WILL BE LEAVIN AFGHANISTAN AND THAT WILL BE THE TIME WHEN THEY MIGHT SHOW THE GLIMPSE OF THEIR EMOTIONS .

FOR EVERY ACTION THERE IS AN EQUAL REACTION.

WEATHER THEY HIRE INDIANS OR BRITS OR THE FRENCH OR ANY OTHER ALLY OF THEIRS TO DO THIS DIRTY JOB IT WOULD BE DEVESTATING FOR SURE...

""""
HE HAS NOT YET BECAME A HERO BUT OUR AMERICAN FRIENDS MIGHT HELP HIM IN BECOMING A TRUE HERO LIKE THEY HELPED BHUTTO IN BECOMING ONE....

"Oh please..keep your ideas to yourself"

if it was just my ideas it would be no problem.

On 5 December, 61 retired senior military officers, from 17 States including France, Russia, the UK and US, released a 'Statement on Nuclear Weapons' calling for urgent and deep nuclear disarmament, aimed at the complete elimination of nuclear weapons. The previous day, in Washington, two retired senior US military officials - Generals Lee Butler (former US Strategic Commander) and Andrew Goodpaster (former NATO Supreme Allied Commander, Europe) released a statement urging similar action, aimed at the same goal. See last issue for full texts of both statements.

Reacting to the statements, Deputy White House Press Secretary David Johnson stated on 5 December that nuclear deterrence would remain "the cornerstone of our strategy in protecting America's vital national interests," if not forever then at least "for some time into the future."

Editor's note: Launching his joint statement with General Goodpaster, General Butler delivered an address substantially the same as the one made at the recent 'State of the World' Forum - see issue No. 9. The address outlined a three-point plan of immediate action:

"First...for the declared nuclear-weapon States to accept that the Cold War is in fact over, to break free of the norms, attitudes and habits that perpetuate enormous inventories, forces standing alert and targeting plans encompassing thousands of aimpoints.

Second, for the undeclared States to embrace the harsh lessons of the Cold War: that nuclear weapons are inherently dangerous, hugely expensive, and militarily inefficient; that implacable hostility and alienation will almost certainly over time lead to a nuclear crisis; that the failure of nuclear deterrence would imperil not just the survival of the antagonists, but of every society; and that nuclear war is a raging, insatiable beast whose instincts and appetites we pretend to understand but cannot possibly control.

Disarmament Diplomacy: - Over 60 retired military leaders call for nuclear weapons abolition

We'll disarm when you can convince the Israelis and Indians to disarm, or better yet, when you can convince the above two, yourselves and the Russians to disarm.

Oh no, but the Israelis, Indians, Russians and Americans won't use their nukes for evil purposes, they are responsible states and they indeed are allowed to have nukes while other nations aren't.[/sarcasm]
