Since there was no fancy inauguration ceremony for it, no one seems to know but there's an U/C Metro Bus in Multan on which work began last week.

MULTAN: Metro Bus Project Chief Engineer Sabir Khan Saddozai said on Friday that Rs155 million would be given to the Punjab Horticulture Authority (PHA) in Multan to beautify the metro bus route.
He was talking to newsmen while inspecting machinery at a camp office set up on the metro bus route.
Saddozai said engineers have completed survey according the approved design and marked the area needed for its construction.
He said Rs155 million, to be released by the Metro Bus Authority to the PHA, would be utilised for landscaping and to develop green belts around flyovers.
He said the PHA had submitted estimates for Rs30 million to shift 19,000 plants to the 18-kilometre long metro bus route.
He said a consultant was reviewing the estimates. Saddozai said three contractors assigned to work on the Bosan Road section of the route had arranged 20 heavy construction machinery and18 transit mixer vehicles.
He said cement, sand and crushed stone were being obtained. He said work would begin once the materials inventory reached the desired level. The chief engineer instructed the contractor in Mumtazabad to begin work in next three days.
PHA Director Chaudhry Naseer Ahmad said that PHA was moving plants from the metro bus route to nurseries and shady places to avoid damaging them during construction. “These plants would be shifted back to the green belts in August,” he added. He said at least 11 date palms would be shifted for the project.

1 question though : Isn't Faislabad more populous and more urbanized than Multan? Then why making BRT first in Multan rather than Faisalabad?

Positive development

I hope now federal govt will also fund a similar project in peshawar

They choose Multan First After That Faisalabad then Gujranwala

It was just showbazi of showbaz to initiate Multan metro in a hurry. It's the most convenient and most used route of Multan but problem could've been solved by just taking care of administrative issues, keeping public transporters in checks and other small things. Other routes are in worst condition and roads are shitholes literally with worst sewerage system. Would've been better if money was spent on real problems

Same noora govt kai saal sey Italy ki taraf sey MULTAN ki preservation k liye diye gey 6-7 million dollar rok k bethi hay aur Italians ko majbur kr rhi hay k yeh paisa Andaroon-e-Lahore kharch hona chahiye jb k 1 million main woh Multan k liye feasibility report bhi kb ki complete kr chukay hain. Os waqt Multan yaad nai aya jb tk dharna nai hua

Then why ppl in punjab vote these annoying nooras??? Again n again.

Mass Transit Trains are better any day.
But they are useful only when there is proper planning done, and there is an already existing network of standard public transport buses run by Municipality, which unfortunately don't exist in Pakistan except for Lahore and some parts of Karachi.

Politics in Pakistan works based on ethnicity if you are Punjabi - even if you are a mass murderer, Punjabis will vote for you....Same case for Sindh ....However KPK and Baluchistan on the other hand have voted (at least once) outside their ethnicity but have still been relatively ignored

You see when you go to village as compared to city...the people are more trusting and are not very far sighted....You make a new promise every 5yrs and easily get votes :(
