The east African country has sent 12 tonnes of tea, coffee and groundnut produced locally to the Indian Red Cross Society, it said adding that the packets will be distributed across Maharashtra with food aid.
“The Government of Kenya wishes to stand in solidarity with the people and Government of India during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic by donating consumable food stuffs,” Willy Bett, High Commissioner of the African country to India, said.

Mr. Bett, who came to the financial capital from New Delhi to hand over the food articles, said the donation is directed to the frontline care givers who continue to work long hours to save lives.
Indian Red Cross Society Vice-Chairman (Maharashtra branch) Homi Khusrokhan said the donation symbolises the empathy that the people of Kenya have for the people of India and is re-assuring.

The global community has united to support India that has been affected by the ravages of the second wave of COVID-19.

It is difficult for proud Indians to accept this kind of assistance

they receive most aid in the world s well

Good gesture from African countries but to be honest it is not required. We are not going to do the same thing what US did with Chinese Ventilators but it is not required imho.

Are you sure about that because we're hearing quite disturbing news from India.
A 22-year-old woman was allegedly raped here by an ambulance driver and his accomplice who lured her into the vehicle after promising to give her food

There is no shortage of food in India. However, due to the policies of the current government, there is inflation as well as people who have been pushed into poverty rendering food to largely become unaffordable for many. Many daily wage earners have no work because of lockdown and economic slowdown.

Thank you Africa for this kind gesture.
Much appreciated.

This consignment is worth INR 35 lakhs.

India donates 1000 times that amount Africa in just one year.

No other South Asian country is rich enough to donate so much money to Africa.

Yeah some superpower....Oi vay!!

People dying on the streets openly, dead bodies floating down the river. Armageddon itself without any war even.

Quad will have serious questions about how these bhakts will handle discipline and logistics in wartime, when they handle it in this go-mutra (piss-poor) fashion during peace-time.

Lack of coherent organization, planning, forethought...

Bhikharee and bhookhey-nangey as always as a result...

No offense but did this dawn on Super-bhakt Modi the genius - that there would be issues with feeding the migrant workers from Bimaru states?

Typical of todays India where the top 1% loots all the money from the destitute and builds (like the shameless Ambanis) 70 story houses in the middle of slums in Mumbai.

How do Indians keep voting this guy in repeated fashion every time? Amazing.
