Afghans in Pakistan: Their home and heart belong here

.
In UK there were few unpretty cases for immigrants, should they send them all back?

Then again, the UK doesn't have an open door policy, face an open borer, with millions of refugees and not just immigrants.
Are really trying to equate UK's story in immigration, that has been going on since the 50's. To Pakistan and it's unmeasured intake from Afghanistan?

There's a huge difference. There is nothing immoral about capping the amount of refugees and immigrants for the right reasons. And unlike the UK, tighter restrictions on immigration here won't do much in terms of what difference it makes. But in Pakistan, the refugees and our proximity to Afghanistan has cost more than you can imagine. Let's play a game in fact... you throw a number out estimating the cost of refugees from Afghanistan and our proximity to Afghanistan, you guess, I'll say higher or lower.

.
We should uphold our culture of hospitality. Afghans shouldn't be deported.
Today.... its beyond culture, anyone born in Pakistan is Pakistani by law of land!
If someone has complaint than he should ask zardari to change the law, after all he did changed law for captured terrorists!
However, criminals are criminal and should be dealt again according to the law of land.
I know my remarks would upset whole brigade, but this is my opinion.

Since 2009 450.000 Pakistanis have been deported from all over the world, cry me a river.

Cry me a river.....:taz:
Many Pakistanis have come home headless... what difference does it make.
Just let me know, how many legal Pakistanis were deported?

Only, if you know, Zardari have issued most ID and passport to northern alliance, who were not even refugees of 80's.
They came to Pakistan, mostly from period of 2007 to 2012.
Only if you know, there is a big scandal about it. Those who have no political influence, international backing does not have papers, even they were born here, educated here, married here.

.
peaceful afghans are always welcome here . But problem is

-) Some of afghans are involved in terrorist activities ,
-) Rate of Crimes by afghani people is very high. ( very much higher )
-) Some are giving shelter to those terrorists.
-) Most of afghans took nationality illegally here .
-) Cross border smuggling by afghans

Now these are some serious offences which is causing trouble to Pakistan and now only solution Pakistan can find is to send them back to their country. And i agree with Pakistan's decision.

.
Their culture (shuttle cock burqa, stone age mindset etc) is also a cancer to moderate Pakistan.
No one is forcing Burqa on you Mohajir folk. In Qatar, there was an Indian school beside ours and there were about 800 Pakistani students there, almost all of them from karcahi. There used to be dance competitions in indian school and pakistani students used to participate in that with great enthusiasm......for pakistani pashtun like me, that was weird and revolting, i thought they were disrespectful to pakistan....now i think they were naturally inclined towards india and they cant be blamed for that. My point is, have respect for other pakistani cultures.

Threads like this make me marvel at the sheer hypocrisy & bigotry of my fellow coutry men.
Deportation of a community is a better option than building strong institutions ??
I have seen afghans working day & night.
I have seen a guy come to our locality with only a couple of donkeys & within eight years becoming perhaps the biggest business man in our area & I have never seen an afghan begging on the road.
My district has 1 of the highest rate of murders in the country but I m yet to hear about an afghan refugee killing some 1.
With this level of comprehension from our esteemed educated members here I see a bright future ahead.
It's true that a refugee community brings along inherent problems but should we not focus on the development of our institutions.
Why are we wasting our energy on racism when we ought to be asking the real questions & finding answers to those ?
Pakistan has 1 of the largest diaspora of immigrants all around the world would the enlightened members be equally supportive of such measures by another country ?

We need to register these refugees
The unregistered ones present the biggest problem
I am also having second thoughts on forced deportation its un-humane
Plus it just kills whatever goodwill we have in Afghanistan

Hmm i know one Afghan who is very rich and also from kharian. And i agree Gujrat have highest murder rate but Afghanis are not involved at all. Its local people only. I said this some time back also that Afghanis are not involved or known for crime of any kind like we read on pdf. And one can find them all over Gujrat. But i also can't speak for other areas of country.

And Pak is also deporting illegals. Even then only 2000 at most have been deported, and there are millions of Afghanis in Pakistan. Can you go more in to detail? You mean Zardari was giving id card to Tajik Afghans who came recenly?

#1 : We're not muhajir anymore. We're Urdu speaking Sindhis.
#2 : I live in Qatar. Tell me the name of that school. Because of our community I know most Pakistanis studying in Indian schools and 99% of them are Punjabis (I also know a Hindu Sindhi studying in an Indian school). And by 9th grade most of them shift over to Pakistani schools for Boards so there's hardly any left. I call complete bullshit on 800.
#3 : Dance competitions? Have you ever been to Qatar? The only time even Indian schools have dance is on Annual Day Functions (once a year, and the dance category has maximum 10 participants, mostly girls, from each grade level). I've been here 13 years and am yet to see a dance 'competition'.
#4 : I have respect for other Pakistani cultures. The only thing I don't understand is, why do almost all Pakhtuns ignore their cultural dress? In our Pakistani school's culture day the Pashtun dress for women they wear is this extremely bright colored long skirt type thing. The first time I saw it I was baffled because not once in my life have I actually seen a Pashtun woman, let alone wear that beautiful dress. I mean, you go to Karachi, there's Kurta-Pajama, Interior Sindh, there's embroidered Saaris (full of color), in Punjab I guess it's regular Shalwar Kameez but why shuttlecock burqa for Afghans? You guys have rich culture and even if you did want burqa you can use the black one which is much more practical and proper.

The blue burqa has been in fashion since the times of the Mughals and originates from Dehli. Just a fun fact.

Also a fun fact : Except for Afghans and a few tribals, no one wears these burqas anymore because they're absolutely nonsense and impractical.

There should be conditions for the Citizenship as most countries have.

They should only be allowed to stay after 10 or 15 years as long as they are law abiding and have acquired a degree from a Pakistani institution and they are fluent in URDU.

They should also show evidence of being fully integrated in Pakistani Society. We don't need Afghans who don't respect our National Laws and don't speak our language. No AFGHAN Bastis.

.
yesterday i was driving when 2 young children (afghan refugees) knocked at my glass... man i was heart broken.... these are still our people... (culturally and ethnically).... instead of hating them we should help them... try to integrate them into our society etc (yes i know they dont like us) but still ..... lets bury the ... and look for a bright future,

.
We can not handle their burden anymore.
Why should Sohrab Goth/Afghan Basti get gas and electricity when lawful citizens of Pakistan nearby in North Karachi can get that gas and electricity instead?
They are a burden on our economy, on our security and especially on our infrastructure.
Karachi has been in a downfall because of these Afghans.
Kick them out, Idc if they're patriotic to Pakistan or not.
We must've educated a good part of these second generation Afghans, now tell them to go back and rebuild your homeland with the education we've given you.
I never thought I'd be racist but the problems these people cause to us!
Their culture (shuttle cock burqa, stone age mindset etc) is also a cancer to moderate Pakistan.

One more thing is that once they came in your area they try to impose their type of living and become rough and behave like its their land not others.
