Soviets were not in Afghanistan for holocaust. They invaded to protect pro India and anti Pakistan communist pashtun king dreaming of merging KP with Afghanistan, same lot you see in Kabul today.

Pakistan army was especially its infantry was in perfect fighting form. It had undergone retraining, retooling and had plenty of intense combat experience smashing the TTP. The would have cut your soldiers like butter. I won’t even talk about fighter pilots.. Indian pilots are no game. Indians were behind the massacre of 150 children in APS and Pakistan military was eager to give India a punishing lesson.
