dawood khan was a pashtun leader of afghanistanCan you please tell us more. I did know that part of history
dawood khan was a pashtun leader of afghanistan
he deposed hid cousin king zahir khan and took over the country and became prime minister he was a pashtun nationalist and he tried to presuade our tribal elders to join him but they decided to whip his a$$
he started a border conflict with pakistan by sending afghan regulars and tribals into pakistan
in 1955, our embassy in Kabul saw our flag being taken down, burnt and insulted. The flag of Pashtunistan being raised. Daoud Khan, the PM of Afghan then fully supported this movement against us.
in 1960-1961 did fighting begin, Afghan irregulars made their way into FATA and the tribesmen fought them back most of them were killed
in May 1961, the Afghans sent in regulars in to Bajaur, and this time the army got in involved, Ayub Khan announced it and even the PAF took part and they were again killed. In September 1961, almost all ties between us and them were cut.Pakistani consulates in Afghanistan closed.
We then blocked many supplies into Afghanistan, trade routes, aid routes. Even banned travel for some of them. This led to tough times for the Afghan economy. In fact, they even had to enlist the help of the soviets, to air lift supplies in to Kabul.
to them we are evil every single thing that happened was our fault this is never gonna changeSo Afghans are paying what is Mad man had done. I feel pity for Afghans

Yes perhaps if King was there, the country was better off.So Afghans are paying what is Mad man had done. I feel pity for Afghans

Daoud Khan had overthrown monarchy and King Md. Zahir Shah had to live in exile in Italy. Later his regime was overthrown by Communist Party of Afghanistan (Saur Revolution) in 1978 and from there one unfortunate thing led to another including 1979 involvement of Soviet Red Army.
That is debatable, but President Zia probably thought it was advantageous for Pak to support US efforts in countering USSR in Afghanistan. Reagen administration believed that if Afghanistan fell to Soviets (in my opinion it already was in influence of USSR prior to that), it will open flood gates to middle east and from there it would be no turning back. In late 70s, Iran Iraq already had bitter relations and after Mohammad Reza Pahlavi was disposed in revolution, US didn't have any choice but to court Pakistan on the matter and honestly, Pak had quite a clout with tribal leaders.we shouldnt have intervened giving the soviets what they wanted would have been better for us
there was another option it was better it was proposed by ZABThat is debatable, but President Zia probably thought it was advantageous for Pak to support US efforts in countering USSR in Afghanistan. Whether Zia was right in helping US, ell that is subjective, in my mind probably it was.

So all these women were in burqas and the men were wearing long flowing beards during the times of Zahir Shah and the communist regime. I guess it wasn't the Taliban after all who imposed it on them. I suppose it is part of the local culture.

People are dying because of the mentality you are expressing that is to invade countries thinking that you can bring a change.See, this kind of mentality is responsible for the current state of Afghanistan AND Pakistan.... its the reason why so many innocent people are dying int terrorist attacks.
