yaar siddi jehee gall ya..bahanay kyo bana raye o...there are many dialects in indian Punjab too..Because no body expects them to make any speech in punjabi in any official meeting, it is a matter of supply and demand. And to make matters worse, we have at least dozen dialects of our language in punjab so if he speaks central punjabi dialect (standar one) in Lahore or gujranwala, then he would be expected to deliver speech in pothohari, saraiki, shahpuri etc. in the cities where those dialects are spoken. That is why there is thumb of rule in pakistani punjab, speak with your peers whatever dialect you want but deliver all kind of official communications and speeches in urdu. People in pakistani punjab are very protective of their native dialects and government in lahore respects every dialect spoken in pakistani punjab.
