its been an overdose of pics form the aero show. what I took away from all that is: as far as manufacturing and Indigenous industry, India is firmly ahead of Pakistan for sure. but definitely well behind china. not a bad place to be actually. the LCH and the LUH surely are the more quickly developed and up to world standard than the combat aircraft (for now at least).

That's only due to India actually supporting, and ordering a large sum of the ALH platform that LCH and LUH came out right. They didnt find an import alterative for the ALH. I think the next program after LCA, AMCA, can be done relatively painlessly if they play their cards right.

Being ahead of Pakistan is not saying much at all, Pakistan produces almost nothing of any distinction, most nations are firmly ahead of Pakistan by default.

I agree India is behind China (obviously) but that is to be expected- China benefits from being the world's largest manufacturing base. That said, I do think India is superior when it comes to innovation, the trouble being it has stifiled such innovation through years of socialist policies (licence raj) and mismanagment (red tape). Only now is such innovation really being tapped and unleashed ( many global OEMs have set up their only out of country R&D centres in India, Team Indus etc etc) , it is up to succesive generations of leadership to create the conditions for this to flourish yet further for the coming decades.

China will remain clearly ahead for some time but India will close the gap sooner rather than later, demographics and geopolitics are now firmly on India's side IMHO. It is a giant that has only just begun to stir.
