What's new

About me thread in Senior Cafe??

Actually I was seeing many people with title and for every title given out in this forum, there should be a reason and a story behind it, it's not like "You are nominated and hence you are given a title" or "We hand out those title like toilet paper" Each person should have a story behind why he/she was nominated. IN fact, I don't even know why I am a professional, like one day I am posting like happy and the next I am a professional :)

by listening to their story, you get more of a general idea why s/he is what s/he is, like in an election, you know everyone's Bios and their stance, while we only know a limited to any titled member here. Isn't the very intention of creating a title is to help create a better discussion platform in this forum in the first place? Then we probably need to know what those member specialised in.

Why Should Senior's Have All the Fun.....................

lol it will be chaotic if all the member did them.....

@jhungary

I have an idea of starting a little project in Seniors Cafe named "PDF Interviews", where i will select a poster and interview them about their life, education and experiences etc then it will be posted on the forum. It will take your bit into account, are you up for this? - How about this, you become my first interviewee?

I am all up for it, that is if you want to do that.

But there are way more interesting personnel than me out there, you sure you wanted me first??

That's a privacy violation.

Judge a post by the content, not the poster's title or country or religion or ...

Not asking personal information like "Name, rank or Serial number" No country of preference and religion status, You don't got asked these before having a title right? I want to know what you are good at and what is your interest, not your Bank account and BSB number.....

This idea best suits for military professionals only,or some think tanks or members who have experiences with army or were a part of army as their introduction, past experience will teach a lot to young generations.:D
It will give this site a magazine style, instead of creating a thread for it,those interviews taken by military professionals must be published in title cover of forum. @Aeronaut @nuclearpak @Jungibaaz @Awesome @Last Hope @Luftwaffe @WebMaster,what do you all think?

Well, I was operating on a concept, you don't get nominated for nothing, and it will help people further when member know why you are a professional, think tank, mod etc.

Right now, we operate on you said what you said in intro and not everything you say about yourselves is what member want to know, of course as I said before, I don't mean personal data like DOB or something like that, but general interest and stuff like that. It will help other to fine tune the post give up by those titled member. This is what I think, maybe it's not a good idea, I don't know...

man, your posts per day is worst than mine... 21

Mine is 7.2 is it bad or...........

Promotions are by divine anointments, not anything else. :D

Frankly, Threads in open section has much better discussions than those in closed sections like senior cafe.

It is foolhardy to predict the capabilities of members on anonymous forum and that on the one where couple of moderators are douches.

Well I dont think so that sharing DOB is personal, well what is so harmful in it?you will get more birthday wishes :D
well it is upto admin now,if they would like to know about everyone then well,it is their site, their decision :)

Who is the top scoring loser that we have to beat? :D

BTW @Oscar himself currently scores at 9 = obsessed.

The reason I score that high is because every infraction I give is also counted as a post.

Interesting. So posts add up with just few mouse clicks. Nice.

Which makes your thanks per actual post even more impressive.

Hi!

The think tanks vary from military professionals, engineers to doctors of pakistani nationality. They have their hidden subforum where they have introduced themselves a little bit more than in the 'members introduction' subforum, however some members would like to keep their info private thus validating hiding the section from other members

The professionals tag is for non pakistani military professionals

The junior TT tag is a combination of several tags e.g researchers, defence enthusiasts, opinionators[article editors] and any other person who posts quality posts. Members of all nationalities can be appointed here. For non-pakistani non-professionals, its the highest they can go. For pakistani members, this is a stepping stone for future TT nominations granted the quality of the posts is persistently maintained by the jnr TT. Junior TTs have their own hidden forum. Further junior TT nominations are done by mutual consent of TTs, professionals, jnrTTs,mods etc after which an election/poll is held for every nomination. The reason I am telling the procedure is that their is not a monopoly of a handful of members rather they have delegated the power.

Seniors cafe was purposely made visible for regular senior members as an incentive to increase their post quality to finally get the junior TT promotion so that they can post in seniors cafe without moderator approval. Later on all members were allowed to post in this section with moderator approval delay. All TTs,Professionals, Junior TTs can post in this section.Certain members were complaining of trolling in every thread, so we came up with seniors cafe and warfare sections.e.g

A quick way to judge a member's interests is to see ''threads started by that person'' or 'latest posts by that person'. You can find this information by clicking on the person's avatar.

kind regards

My personal opinion is that the post should be judge by its quality, not the rank, the job, the religion, the country or number of posts by the user. Pfpilot has only 1600 posts but its the quality and whats written his posts matter.

So if a new user is talking sense and argue with valid points, i believe it should be looked upon regardless of the rank, job or the tag
