Aamir Khan: The hypocrite?

i would like to know his views on charlie hebdo

.
No. I did not say I don't believe it. I will not object against a show that other people might find funny and enjoy it. I will simply ignore it.

Well I would do the same.
But if the content is objectionable to majority (of ppl whom I know) then I would object too.
It was funny in a very crude way.

@SpArK I hope you can send one or 2 videos of AIB roast to scorpionx. I'm sure after watching the videos @scorpionx will change his stance. :-)
Scorpionx, if I know you well (i believe so!) then there's no way you'll support AIB roast.

There is no way 'supporting' verbal abuse, levina. Being a traditional country, objections will be raised every time when someone comes up with shows like these. My grandparents might not have found MTV Splitsvilla going quite well to the values they were guided with in their lives, but most of us don't find it objectionable, right? With time, people will be habituated with AIB, too. Its a normal process of psychological evolution of human minds.

Well, I haven't watched splitsvilla. In this part of the world a lot of things get edited(thankfully!).
And I'm super sensitive when it comes to using abusive words, so may be I would've objected to splitsvilla too. :)

Don't you think that would be the wrong direction to evolve in?

Do you find any thing wrong in modern Japanese society? Once I read a traveler's account (he was a great Netaji researcher too) who visited Tokyo Industrial fair in the 70's. He met a series of veterans from the old school who revered the ancient samurai customs, traditional values that were inherent in their societies for thousands of years. This old lot was aggrieved with the change that devoured Japan quite rapidly after the World war. The new wave from west eclipsed Japanese values, in their opinion. So, it happens every where, most visibly in ancient cultures like India, China or Japan. If we really want to preserve the past, we have to be rigid like Middle East which is not possible at least in India.

Oye koun mere Dada ko parishan kar raha he? BTW how come they got the censor-board permission with these kind of language/?

Its not about preserving my culture and traditions. Its about the kind of content, which am sure would be objectionable in America too (if AIB roast was in English).

Let me silence you with the videos.

Content that goes against our values(that changes with time), which are massacred every day some where, whether its a song, picture or movie. If AIB crosses every limit of sanctity, so does a cheap bhojpuri dance in some occasions in Bihar. If AIB gets banned it will be because of its celebrity participation and media attention. And if it deserves a ban, so does thousands others around us.
Ok, enough!! Ban it if all of you want to ban it.Lunch hour here:angry:

This is what Aamir Khan had to say about the AIB roast.

"I have not seen the entire roast but I have heard about it and I have seen 2-3 clips of it. I was deeply affected by that. I scolded them (Karan and Arjun) and said 'I don't find it funny'. I personally have a problem with it.

"When the roast happened, I happened to be at a place where Karan and Arjun came and told us that we did this roast. I was deeply affected by that. I was most disappointed in what I was hearing. I felt it was a very violent event. Violence is not only physical, it can be verbal and emotional too. When you insult someone, you perpetuate violence,"

Those were Amir's words. Do you know what problem have with that? this

He made a movie called Delhi belly that used vulgar lyrics which he warned against, which is exactly what AIB did.

secondly, he ran into trouble for PK, which was another freedom of speech issue. A conservative Hindu can argue that movie was emotionally violent to his/her beliefs.

He is well within his rights to express his disappointment, but that makes him a hypocrite.

He is being politically correct now, but where was this when he did PK? where was this in Delhi belly?

Can someone correct me on this?

@levina @DRAY @Skull and Bones

Aamir Khan: AIB Roast Wasnt Funny, It was Violent - NDTV Movies

I haven't seen AIB, PK or Delhi Belly yet to pass any comment on this issue, but if what @levina has posted is true, then they have certainly crossed limits, especially in the last comment.
