All I will add at this point is that she is a Pakistani citizen to which the government of Pakistan has consular access and the option to file an appeal against any perceived wrongful conviction. After spending millions, Pakistan has chosen not to proceed any further. That alone should speak loudly.

my understanding is that it was mutually agreed between the governments that this woman is a senior member of an international terrorist organisation and being a signatory to the UN resolution Pakistani government played its part in apprehending this lady.

what speaks loudly is a confusion and capitulation of Pakistani political goverment(s) to pressure from radicalized groups that dictate the daily life of the country ranging from persecution of minorities, making excuses for religious zealots ,lynching people over Blasphemy to targeting polio workers and reacting with abuses towards women rights events.

Only solution is take a couple of American women and hold them until aafia is returned

Without going into details, let me just say this: Pakistan has had a very difficult time trying to extricate itself out after 9/11 when presented with hard proof of the level of involvement. Pakistan has done well to avoid the consequences by changing its policies in certain areas. That is all.

(Legal expenses borne by the government of Pakistan for Afia Siddiqui are in the several millions of USD. The capitulation that you refer to inside Pakistan is not just civil or political. The whole society is going to hell in a handbasket, to use a common phrase, not to be taken literally.)
